Malcolm X -City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing- Spring 2023

Anyone applying for Malcolm X College for Spring 2023? Figured I'd start a discussion. I applied to the RN program and am waiting for them to update my cumulative GPA, background check, and medical document submission.

Hi! I am considering applying and only need to take my TEAS exam - would you mind sharing what to expect? Was a lot of studying necessary? Is math part of the exam?

Yes, I am currently applying to MX RN program for the Spring 2023. I am waiting on them as well with updating my background check and medical document upload. Have you noticed any update?

TEAS was OK. It's not super bad only thing that tripped me up was the science part because my test asked a lot of Chemistry questions and Chemistry has never been my strong suit. Reading and Math were my highest scores! There are 4 sections Science, Reading, Math, and English. I gave myself no more than a week or so to study and made the minimum requirement to apply to the program. If I had given myself more time, I probably would have gotten even higher, but the test is not cheap so no thanks. Good luck!

Yes they have one every Spring and fall semester

Nope, not yet. I’m not sure if I should call to ask about it or not!

Same it’s so frustrating. I have called a few times and the nursing info sessions. I was told wait because CC was contemplating on striking but I read they came to an agreement recently . Hopefully it’ll be updated before or by the 13th

I did apply for the PN program still waiting on an update of my background check and medical documents. Mine were already submitted from my last application for fall 2022 ADN program.

Oh wow ! They are taking their time . I applied to both programs. Hoping my TEAS score and GPA get me into one of them. I wonder when will they update and when will we find out if we got a spot?

I got an email yesterday saying I need to write a letter explaining my low cumulative GPA from my previous degree. So they are looking at stuff! Hopefully we hear sooner rather than later.

 

I was just looking at the Spring schedule and one of the clinical options is on a Sunday. I really hope it’s a mistake and supposed to be Saturday, I work Sundays and can’t switch my schedule.

Wow OK. I was told by the staff that since the professors aren’t striking anymore thing should be picking up! And I hope that is a mistake too. I work only Sundays as well.
