Hi I decided to start this thread for the future rio hondo lvn nursing applications 2024

Following. Has there been any new updates for the LVN program?

Hi I applied but have not received any updates. I was told by the nursing counselor that applicants wouldn't know until maybe November

Until November? Sheeshh. Ever since I submitted my application, I have been so nervous haha. I was reading the other threads on here that its around mid to late October? Maybe its different this year? I wonder how many applications they recieved 🤔

I keep checking my email every hour LOL. 
I also asked them how many candidates they get, I never get a full answer. I also asked them if it's by random or lottery why does the application state to maximize their requirements and why ask for any volunteer hours, degrees or certifications. 
hmmmm... but I'm super anxious I want to know now!!

ME TOO!! From what I know, it's by lottery and when I asked my counselor, they get 20-30 applications chosen for the program. im so anxious as well I wanna know NOWW... cant wait until like November. The suspense is killing mee LOL. Did you do any volunteer hours or have any healthcare experience?

Hopefully they get 30!! And we get in!!!

I am super nervous, when they told me lottery I was like OK there goes my chance!! I never win anything 😆 

yes I put in volunteer hours and have my phlebotomy license. I also put in my 2 AA degrees.

Id hope they 30 as well!! I hope they reach us out in early October.

Im nervous too I hope both of us gets in 😊  same when I heard the lottery I never win those haha. maybe we have luck in this!

I unfortunately don't have any volunteer hours. Id hope that does not go with my chance with the program. I also put in my 3 AA degrees and CPR certificate in the application. I was so hesitate to submit, making sure I have everything correct since we only get one chance of submitting and no fixing afterwards. Ever since that day, I am checking my emails and even sent an email making sure they got it in their system 😛

Im not sure when orientation day starts? I havent seen anything about it but based on the previous threads here, it showed the end of October. Have you heard anything about it?

I went into rio and asked if the received my application!! I am super paranoid. I always think worse case.. 

ex: what if they forget to put me in the lottery.

or what if they throw my application out bcs I didn't do something correctly. 
I also check my emails various times a day.. 

ugh I hope they hurry and do the lottery. 
I did ask them about orientation but it seems everything is super secretive with them. I was told they were not sure yet. 
 

I am still wondering why submit all of our extra work as in volunteer hrs and or certifications if it's by lottery.

I got super paranoid too because of my luck LMAO its good to reach out and be reassured that they received the application. 

I tried looking for the health and nursing program meetings for if anyone has questions for the process of the applications or programs but online its outdated and nothing for 2024. I only emailed about if they received my application. I am not sure if im getting emails on my student email ( I am a new student to rhc, so I cant access my student email) but id hope we hear back on our personal emails soon. 

I wonder about the same thing, it shouldn't affect our application.. id hope... I read online they check all applications and group the ones with all the requirements met in the lotto and go from there.

Yes everything is outdated on their site. 
I believe they sent the letters on the email we put on the application. My friend applied a couple yrs ago and got in. She told me it did take a while for her to find out. 
 

I heard that they group the applications with the minimum requirements and only go in the lottery if the applications that exceeded the requirements are under a certain number. 
Dnt quote me on it I do not know how true that is. 
 

but to be honest I am very impatient I need to know now. I feel like calling them and asking if they have done the lotto or by when will we know, however I am a bit intimidated to do so..
