Anyone out there applied for MSC BSN program for Fall 2011? I was wondering what the timeline is for receiving acceptances. From previous posts on this site, it looks like we may not hear anything until April, even though registration begins in March (I think). Does anyone know how many applicants versus how many acceptances they have each year?
Also, are there any MSC students currently in the BSN program? I am interested to know what you think of the program. Finally, I was wondering how difficult it will be to work while enrolled. I have a daytime job with flexible hours (~25 hours per week). I currently work M-F and plan to continue the position while in the program, but will have the option of changing days/hours around, if needed. How time-consuming is the BSN program, including clinicals and labs? Will it be possible to work 20-25 hours while attending?
Thanks Lvance7, sorry to say that when I inquired about ASN letters this morning, my adviser's response was that if they haven't already been mailed out, then they will be mailed out soon. So I guess we'll be sitting and waiting for the mail in anticipation. I did manage to register for ap2 for the summer which was a good and bad thing. She told me not to stress out about micro because you have until your 2nd year of nursing to complete it. I'm not looking forward to taking ap2 this summer because its double work in a shorter amount of time, but sometimes you gotta suck it up and do what you have to do. She recommended that I go ahead and take the ap2 this summer so I'm gonna get in serious mode and go ahead and do it. I guess whatever my letter says will determine what I will take in the fall....
Yeah I checked my mail today and still nothing . I took A&p one and two at a school that went by the quarter system so we only had ten weeks to learn what was normally taught in 16 weeks. I'm not going to lie it was definitely hard and having to sit through 2 and a half hour lectures was tough but it goes by fast and if that is the only class you are taking I think you will be fine! Just work hard and try not to miss a day cause if you do you end up missing a lot of material! That is good to hear about the Micro too, gives you some leeway with that so you don't have to stress so much.
It doesn't surprise me that ASN letters have not gotten to you yet. I bet they avoid confusion and errors by waiting until after the seat reservation deadline for BSN, so they are not receiving reservations back for BSN and ASN at the same time.
Since the BSN deadline was 4/13, I'm guessing that the ASN letters will be in the mail anytime now. :)

Just got back in town from Orlando and the first thing I did was check the mailbox, still no letter:down:. Thank you nicubee and terralynn; congrats to both of you and good luck, I'm sure you'll both do great. Congrats lifeslilangel38 on your graduation, how exciting is that? Sounds like the ASN letters have not been mailed out yet; I have a meeting in the morning with my adviser so hopefully she can hint to me when the ASN letters will be mailed out. nicubee, I will definitely take your advice if I don't get in and apply for both programs for the Spring. I didn't realize how minimal the differences are for the programs. I'll keep you all posted on how my visit with my adviser goes tomorrow.
