Anyone out there applied for MSC BSN program for Fall 2011? I was wondering what the timeline is for receiving acceptances. From previous posts on this site, it looks like we may not hear anything until April, even though registration begins in March (I think). Does anyone know how many applicants versus how many acceptances they have each year?
Also, are there any MSC students currently in the BSN program? I am interested to know what you think of the program. Finally, I was wondering how difficult it will be to work while enrolled. I have a daytime job with flexible hours (~25 hours per week). I currently work M-F and plan to continue the position while in the program, but will have the option of changing days/hours around, if needed. How time-consuming is the BSN program, including clinicals and labs? Will it be possible to work 20-25 hours while attending?
Still nothing today.. I am definitely getting to know my mail lady though. Hc123, did you ever get a BSN rejection letter? Because I heard that the BSN alternates were all automatically accepted into the ASN program and I am wondering if you were a BSN alternate and that is why you have received a letter already.. Because even if it was bad new (which I pray it isn't) I would think I would have gotten a letter within a day or two of the acceptance letters.. Was your letter specific about anything or mention anything like this?
hc123 thanks for the encouragement and rooting us on....still nothing today for me:confused:. Once again, hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow. It's hard waiting on the letter and trying to prepare for finals. I can't hardly focus because I just want the letter saying that I've been accepted; I've also been prepping for a plan B just in case the letter is not so good news. Once again, good luck to everyone sill waiting, I will keep you posted.:)
Lvance7, sorry to hear that but remember it's not the end of the world. The applications for Spring Semester will be available on June 1st. Hopefully you will reapply and don't give up. Now I'm extremely nervous about getting my letter, the anticipation is killing me. Did your letter state a specific reason as to why you were denied or did it just have a general response? it would help if they told you what you were lacking or if you weren't lacking anything and that it was just the luck of the draw. I'll keep you posted on my end as i anxiously wait...
I'm pretty sure it was just a mass generated letter because it said to just keep working on pre-reqs and get as high a gpa as possible and reapply. Which for me doesn't make sense because I already have all the ASN pre-reqs completed, I'm thinking my gpa just is not high enough, my A&P grades are killing me. Thank you so much for the encouragement. As hard as it is i'm going to make an appointment with my adviser and see what I can do to improve my chances. I'm going to reapply for spring and also apply to some other schools that start in the spring to hopefully heighten my chances. In the meantime I have a Chem 1152 final tomorrow I should focus on.. I kinda wish this letter had come tomorrow..
