Hello,
I'm new to this site and I plan on applying for Macomb's nursing program Feb, 2017!
I would love to hear from anyone else applying. I'm very nervous and excited.
SBA446: Ah, I see what you mean now when you are referring to chem 70 (having only 2 digits threw me off). I've taken Gen Chem and Organic Chemistry I and II, so I'm covered there. I'm investigating EMU for their RN to BSN program. It's online as well, same as MSU. The course is accelerated. The classes are each 7 weeks in duration. There is a kid at my son's bus stop whose mother is doing this program and it's a lot less per credit hour. The entire program costs just under $10K without books. I am investigating that right how.
Hi Guys! I have heard wonderful things about MSU's partnership with macombs RN-BSN program. Now a days just getting an AAS just isn't good enough so you need to compete an RN-BSN program one way or another since more and more hospitals are starting to make in a requirement for even hiring purposes. This program is great because students admitted to this program enroll in two summer sessions (one course each summer between their ADN coursework) at MSU while simultaneously completing their Associate Degree in Nursing program. So you get your BSN much quicker than your traditional RN-BSN program with other universities. No other university offers that. And not to mention it's much less pre reqs! So it's defiantly worth it. Here are the pre reqs. I have also attached the link below of the program layout plan if anyone is interested!

Wow are you effing kidding me????? First it's Monday then it's Tuesday, then its Wednesday NOW IT'S NOT TILL NEXT WEEK???????? This is SO unfair. I will NOT wait that long. I just called no answer left a voicemail. I will be getting to the bottom of this and find out exactly what the hold up is. Absolutely ridiculous and BEYOND fustrating!!!!!
I think everyone should call records and admin right now. We need to all get the same answers. We shouldn't be told different things. I wonder since the decision is already made if I can just straight up call and ask if i was accepted or not due to me not being able to check the mail since I'm on vacation or something.
ZhannaD-Yes sorry I thought it was 1070 but it's actually 1170 (macomb has really weird class numbers) and yes the only downfall with the MSU partnership is it's very expensive:( It's $623.50 per credit hour for non-resident. I'm just doing it because I already had half the pre reqs done from years ago plus they're much less to take and way easier so I just took the rest so I will have them all done and out of the way before I even start the nursing program. I will also be able to take out a loan too. It just depends on your situation. U of D is even more expensive though and that's another partnership macomb offers for RN-BSN. Also way more pre reqs with them too. No thanks!
I looked into taking PHIL-2100 online this summer but all 3 online sessions are massively waitlisted, with one of them closing the waitlist. Guess it's a popular class. I might take HUMN-1700, the evening class over the summer. I need to talk to my husband because he would have to put the kids to bed. That class runs from 6:00-9:55 p.m. twice a week for 6 weeks. Fast and dirty.

I also don't get any more info than anyone else, before the questions come in. They keep this stuff locked up super duper tight and even the advisers don't get any info that isn't required for them to do their part in the process, which unfortunately is not deciding who gets in and who doesn't
