Macomb Community College 2017

Published

Hello,

I'm new to this site and I plan on applying for Macomb's nursing program Feb, 2017!

I would love to hear from anyone else applying. I'm very nervous and excited.

U of D is close to $1,100 per credit hour. No way I would do that. But EMU has a RN to BSN program that is not a partnership with Macomb. You just have to have an ADN already to apply for that program, where as with MSU, you can apply after you are accepted into the Nursing Program at MCC. I am going to speak to the coordinator at EMU to see what the requirements are for that program. It's a lot less per credit hour than MSU.

No letter today in Ray Township. Waiting nervously!

Let's pray we get them tmrw guys!

I took Philosophy 2100 with Drew Matzke. Super easy going professor and not a difficult class.

Why did someone say we will be getting them next week?

Well Karen at the records and registration (she is one of two contacts for the nursing admissions; she is the liaison for last names starting with A-L) told me they will go out by tomorrow, Monday at the latest. So it appears they are sticking to that schedule. I'm not sure to whom anyone else spoke when they found out that the letters supposedly were mailed on Tuesday.

Heidiho, you're in Ray Township also?!

When did you speak to her ZhannaD?

I called her last Friday. She said they were going to start on Monday the 24th and that it was pretty fast, in terms of getting the letters out. I wanted to get a time frame for how long the ranking process took. Also, FYI, I guess the letters won't have our rank out of 160 if we get accepted. It will only state whether we are accepted and our start date (August, October, January or March). This was the reply from Pat in advising. I went to see her today about my 200 level philosophy class from UWF to see if I still had to take PHIL-2100 (which I do, bummer).

Tomorrow has to be the day!!! The wait is seriously killing me!!

Jvo45: I really do not think they've been mailed out yet. Pat in advising at Advising and Counseling Center campus said it will likely be early next week when the letters go out. Everyone sit tight. We have waited this long, we can wait a bit longer.

Also, I asked her regarding the ranking, they use decimal points to five places for GPA when they rank the top 160. I asked her what if someone has the same GPA as I do and same HESI percentage, how do they decide who is first and who is second. She said she wasn't sure but if there is a tie for the same position, they might use who applied first as a tie breaker. In any case, I was told they will not supply us with our ranked number in the letters that do go out, only that we are accepted and our start date.

I will know first thing in the morning if it comes tomorrow. I will post either way.
