Macomb Community College Nursing 2014

Published

Let's share our experiences !!! I just wanted to start a page for those who are getting ready for Macomb Nursing program 2014.

I actually applied this year(2013) for the first time. Unfortunately I was't accepted, but I am hoping to be accepted next year! I want to share my experiences, and meet people who are also applying.

I have completed all the prerequisites, and I plan to retake the Hesi test sometime this year.

Welcome!

:)

Sailboatescape- I took my HESI on the 20th as well and didn't do as well as I'd planned. I too got an 86 (I blame the hour it took us to get started, lol), the exact same score I received when I took it last year. Anyway, I applied last year with a 3.5 gpa & 86 HESI and am currently #9 on the alternate list. I was #14, but 5 alternates were accepted when we went to our orientation back in May. I'm sure I probably won't receive a call before March so I'm applying again with my 3.5 & 86. Best of luck to you & everyone else on this board! :)

I'm taking the HESI jan 7. I am so nervous, anything info about the exam would be so much appreciated. I have used the assessment exam review book to study. What was difficult? Thanks so much good luck

Hi ya'll I've been keeping up with this feed for awhile and just finally made an account today. I just took my HESI Dec 20th and was really bummed because I just didn't do as well as I really hoped I would. Got an 86 and was really hoping I could get in the 90's because my GPA is not so great. I'll be applying with a 3.4 gpa and an 86 hesi. I really have no idea if this is going to be good enough to get me in. I know a lot of other people are in a lot better places than I. If anyone has any questions about the Hesi let me know. @a.carolina if you don't mind me asking I saw you said you applied last year and didn't get in? If you don't mind me asking what did you apply with last time? If you don't want to answer that is ttly okay just let me know :)[/quote']

It is okay, I applied with a 3.4 and 81 hesi. So I retook the two classes I had gotten a B , and this time I'll be applying with a 4.0 and hopefully a better scored hesi. Don't give up! I've notice that a higher hesi even with a low gpa makes a lot of difference

Deanna Did you get my email? I tried to message u the other day and I wasn't able to.

I was think about going to the library this weekend, what do u think?

As far as I can remember there was no pictures

What do you guys mean it took a hour to get started? :scrying:

How were the fractions? Was it the same level of difficulty as the Hesi Review Book?

-Rachel

I haven't been studying as much as I had planned.. but I'm feeling okay so far with the material. The grammar section worries me a lot! I covered the chemistry section yesterday and will be doing A&P today.

Any advice on the English portion? It's my weakness at the moment!

We do not have a Chemistry section on the HESI...? right?

@Rachel

Oh my, it is not T_T. I assumed that everything in the book was what I needed to go over. Sigh, I guess I'll have more room for all of the other information.

Just a heads up for anyone taking the HESI Monday or Tuesday. The news is predicting many school closing a due to the snow. The hotline for macomb closing is 586-445-7800

Thanks for the tip.

As for the A&P, should we focus more on the chapter text or the review questions? Because I'm finding the review questions are somewhat unrelated to the text.....?

For A&P I am studying the study guide book I highlighted the key points and rewrote them. I am just looking them over, I just took A&P last semester so a lot of it from the book was review. I plan to go over my notes from the semester tomorrow.

Question so, I know you get to start with whatever section you want but, can you choose the sections after that? Or then does it just go in a random order?

MCC is closed for anyone taking the exam tomorrow. Please post any updates on what the school plans to do. I take mine Tuesday.....
