B in A&P at MCC
The same thing happened to me. I took A & P in the summer and received a C+. I also took English that semester and got an A. So the following fall I took micro, intro to nursing & retook A&P. I got an A in intro and a B+ in micro & A&P. I'm starting the program in March of this year!

It wasn't too bad, honestly. You just have to stay motivated & manage your time well.

Have any alternates received a call? I was offered a spot on this past Monday.

I was ranked 174 last year (14th alternate) & received a call in January to start in March. Not sure how many they accepted beyond me.

I applied last year & was the #14 alternate. They took 5 alternates at the orientation, so I was pretty much the #9 alternate up until this past January when they called & offered me a spot. I could've started in March, but had to decline my spot. I received my letter today and I'm ranked 171, the #11 alternate with a 3.517 GPA and 86 HESI score.

That's what some people think/say, but I honestly don't know. The ranking office said they use an automated system to rank, so it's all based on what the computer formulates & they say it's 50/50, but I really don't know.

I'm not sure about 160, but 162 was 3.35 & 90 and the first 5 alternates were offered a spot in May while at alternate orientation.

Here's a little encouragement for you guys: I applied last year with a 3.517 GPA and an 86 HESI. I was alternate #14 & received a call today to accept a spot to start this coming March! Due to certain circumstances, I had to turn down my spot, so I'll be reapply with the same GPA & HESI. I'm not discouraged because I know I did my best & that it is possible! I say all this to say, don't stress about it. I know it's easier said than done, but it's the best advice I can give. I honestly didn't expect them to call, so I'd already submitted another app for next admission cycle, but I didn't give up or stress about it. This process is long (getting an acceptance/alternate letter, going to orientation, awaiting a start date & for those who will be alternates, simply waiting on that phone call) so worrying the entire time doesn't help. If you need to retake a course to get a better GPA, retake it. If you need a higher HESI score, retake it (I did & end up getting the same score) & reapply, but DON'T stress it. Just do the best you can & when the time is right & if it's meant to be, you will obtain a spot in this program!

Sailboatescape- I took my HESI on the 20th as well and didn't do as well as I'd planned. I too got an 86 (I blame the hour it took us to get started, lol), the exact same score I received when I took it last year. Anyway, I applied last year with a 3.5 gpa & 86 HESI and am currently #9 on the alternate list. I was #14, but 5 alternates were accepted when we went to our orientation back in May. I'm sure I probably won't receive a call before March so I'm applying again with my 3.5 & 86. Best of luck to you & everyone else on this board! :)
