I'm trying to get into the Macomb Community College Nursing program. I just took the HESI test and scored a 86.5%. I Also have a 4.0 GPA. What are my chances into getting into the program for 2011, since my HESI is still kind of low?
If anyone can relate please comment. Post scores so we can compare! Thanks for your thoughts:)
I got a 4.0 and a 91 on my hesi and I was tied for 31. I was wondering too about being tiedand wondering how they decide the 40. I am really pushing for August. I guess Ill wait and see
You should be in for August. I was ranked 41 two years ago and I was August (and I know there were a lot of people ranked below me that started in August as well).
My favorite part was when ---- said, 'this information in meant to impress you, not scare you.' I'm glad to know that working full time is an option. It must just depend on the kind of life situation a person is in and their will to accomplish the demands/goals placed upon themselves by theirselves. Was anyone concerned by the number and frequency of plain-ol' dumb questions asked by students?
We had tons of dumb/repetitive questions last year in our orientation... it was pretty ridiculous. Just wait, cause you're going to have them in your classes, and if they'll ask dumb questions in front of ----, they'll ask dumb questions anywhere. I found myself frequently the first 8 weeks thinking, "Deep breath...take a deep breath..."

Ha! I was definately impressed :)
I wish you luck if you are going to try to work full time. I'm doing what I can to avoid having to work once I start, but I can understand why that might not be an option for some.
I thought that the good questions outweighed the dumb ones :) I have to applaud the speaker though; she handled some of those not-great questions with great respect and consideration for the person asking the question.
Okay, I have a question about the HHSC 1040. I talked to ------ (one of the ladies at the table) and asked her about HHSC 1040 and she said I can't start until January but then ---- was talking about it and she said I can start in Oct. as long as I take HHSC 1040 in the first ten weeks! Did anyone get clarification on this?!
When I spoke to the admin. assistant about it a few months ago, she said that you cannot begin Nursing until January because the grades (C or better) wouldn't be turned in until after the October session was already scheduled for people.
Today though the speaker said October was an option...so I'm not sure.

I agree, PV. ---- comes across as very professional and respectful. We'll learn a lot, especially about professional behavior, from her.
