Okay, I have a question about the HHSC 1040. I talked to ------ (one of the ladies at the table) and asked her about HHSC 1040 and she said I can't start until January but then ---- was talking about it and she said I can start in Oct. as long as I take HHSC 1040 in the first ten weeks! Did anyone get clarification on this?!

does anyone know if HHSC 1040 is required before starting the program or do you just have to take it before finishing the nursing program? I'm not really sure but I'm a little nervous because at first I didn't know it was required, the counselor told me I could take it over the summer, and now of course they don't offer it in the summer. If I get accepted and am able to start in August or October will that hold me back?!

The wait is going to be awful, but hopefully it pays off! The class averages do seem really low this year, which I hope will also be a good sign. My main concern is getting in, my second concern is when I'll start. I really hope I don't end up getting in but having to wait unti next winter to start! Does anyone know exatly how many people they're accepting this year? I think it's 160 and 40 people start on each of the 4 start dates. But I could be wrong??

Well those are both great scores so I would hope you don't have a problem getting in! My friend had a 4.0 and an 89 and she got in and started in October, so you should definitely be fine! Good luck:)!

Well, school doesn't come easy to me at all, I just work really, really hard. I make literally hundreds of notecards each semester and re read chapters 2 sometimes 3 times before exams and high light and re-read over and over until I feel comfortable with it. It's time consuming and definitely puts a dent in my social life, I was away at college and actually moved home because the "college" life was effecting my grades. Work hard and you can do it too!

Well I talked to a counselor and the last person that got in last year had a 3.4 GPA and a 92 on the HESI. Does anyone know how they weight it? I know its 50/50 but all of our scores are kind of similar, the low HESI scores pair with a high GPA and vice versa! I don't know how they average it to figure out our rank. Also, my friend that got in last year started in October and she had a 4.0 and an 89 on her HESi. Are there 3 or 4 start dates for the program?

I just finished taking both classes together!! It's helpful!! The classes cover things that feed off of one another. Systems, how the body works, things like that so it's easier to remember because you have info on it from two different aspects. I'm so glad I took them together. I finished the semester with all A's!

My class average was a 79! Good news to all of us that have posted so far!

I'll be applying and I have a 3.8 GPA and I got a 92.7 on the HESI. I'm super nervous and I don't care if I'm last in, I'm just hoping for a spot! Good Luck to everyone!
