LvN requiring Cgfns

I am a Filipino Nurse and tried to apply for NCLEX PN because i could not sit for NCLEX RN due to the concurrency issue.

After long months of waiting. I have received a letter from BVNPT that i need my transcripts evaluated by a credentialing agency such as CGFNS. I was surprised because i never have had heard that lvn needs cgfns evaluation. Does anyone have the same experience as me? And what happened after?

Hmm i think its still a normal process of them (CGFNS and BVNPT) to ask for the RLE information if its not included in the transcript :) but if theyre asking for our clinical cases then maybe they change their rules again and copy the concurrency rule of CA BRN

LEts still not lose hope lol. Im still waiting for my cgfns update and im planning to expedite it, lets see if they ask for more documents , ill update you here hehe

First, I applied to BVNPT last year around May lol.BVNPT replied back saying that they needed a transcript evaluation from the accredited credentialing agencies and also my transcript of record and nursing program in a school sealed envelope. then I got lazy to processed it :D

I started my application to CGFNS last July something and my school processed it for the whole month of Aug lol

While waiting for them to process my transcript. I sent them the copy of my HS diploma (through fax)and processed the license verification from the PRC. Then the CGFNS emailed and updated my status for the HS diploma and license verification to "received" so right now theyre only waiting for my TOR.

My school just recently sent my TOR last Aug 28 then the courier confirmed me that they delivered it last week. So right now im waiting for them to update it :( so yes they already have all my documents.

I agree its included with the TOR that the schools sends to CGFNS. I just look at mine since I have a copy of the documents that my school sent to CGFNS.

Secondly, I do hope they will not implement the same rules with NCLEX-PN. But if they will, Im glad I'm done processing my documentsí ½í¸…

I don't have of the recent documents yet, I told the school to hold the extra copy for me in the meantime, you know, that's like another $80 for shipping, BUT I have here the docs from my nclex-rn application from years back -- I have the TOR without the RLE with it, since when you're applying for california you have the "Breakdown of Educational Program Form" which enumerates the subjects with it's theory hours and clinical hours to be filled out??? I also have here in narrative form of the subjects and it's description/explanation, then signed by the dean with school seal but printed out in a regular bond paper unlike the tor with the thick type of paper used.... idk. How does your RLE Docs look like?

Mine states on top of the page "Summary Of Related Learning Experience" lol i dont know why you don't have one. It's simply the breakdown of all my clinical hours and how many weeks spent for each areas of nursing that I took from 1st year to graduation ( areas such as community, med-surg, maternity, research etc. ) What I did was talk to the assistant of the dean and I just ask about the RLE form.

lol me too . I initially submitted my application june 2016 and received a letter around oct 2016 that I need CGFNS. I procastinated a bit and just started the CGFNS process I think about May 17. Not sure anymore lol I hope you'll get your CES soon .

Mine was also like this, it says summary of RLE, some descriptions on what we need to do and what knowlede should we gain after the clinical experience plus the list of hospitals, hrs of duties etc. Though I havent tried to apply in CA BRN yet because of the concurrency issue lol. So im just curious,does the breakdown of clinical hours is also the same as our Summary of Related learning Experience in the TOR or we need to request it separately ?

Hi! Does anyone know if i can process cgfns first prior sending an application to the Bvnpt? I'm planning to process it while i'm in the Philippines, due no one will process it once i migrate next year. Is my plan advisable? or i need to be in the us first before getting the service or cgfns? Thank you so much.

You can definitely process CGFNS first 'coz you only have to fill out the form and pay the fee, and you're set, then they will reply back to you with the next procedure.... BUT after they process your app (CGFNS CES), with the requirements submitted, they will forward the result/findings directly to the Board of Nursing. So, if you haven't applied to Board of Nursing yet, then where will they send it to? Your thinking is, in the meantime, CGFNS will keep the papers for you? They will actually keep the records for a certain amount of time. Not exactly sure how long.

I think, what you have in mind is wise. You're thinking ahead. But sometimes when you think ahead, there are risks involve, a lot of "what if" and "maybe", you're not certain...

If it were me though, what I would do is the VERY FIRST STEP, which is to 1.) Apply to BoN (regardless of location, whether you're in the Phil or US), then they will reply back to you as to what's needed and what to do next.. proceed from there..

Hopefully, others will share their opinion as well. Keep checking the page, they will eventually reply back..

Hi. Do you already have a social security number? It is required in cgfns and bvnpt. Everytime you fill up their forms/application, they are always looking for it. If you already have one then go for it :)

As for my experience, BVNPT replied to me after 6 months :o lol while cgfns finished evaluating my credential for only 6-8 days i think once they received all the necessary documents (they are faster if you avail their expedited service) some says it will take them 2 months for the normal process (without the expedited service)

So for me i think you can process it both at the same time :D Best of luck :)
