Hi!
I am looking for anyone who is attending/has graduated from LCCC's nursing program. Can you please share your acceptance details (when you got your letter, g.p.a., pax scores)? The school is so vague with their admissions details and rumors are constantly flying.
At the other end of the spectrum, if you have been denied admission to the program when did you get your letter, did they give a reason for denial?
Thank you to anyone who can help :) :)
Maybe they just haven't gotten to my name. I have 10 points for GPA and 25 points for classes (5, I didn't count the FYE cause it's only 1 credit) , do they give points for grades in the h.s. Classes or is it you just need a C to be considered?I had a lovely dream last night that I got an acceptance letter next week from one of the abandoned spots. I woke up upset because I know the chances of that are slim to none, especially now that I know my point spread.
The algebra, bio and Chem were listed on the paper but I don't know if you get points for that or if it's just that you have to have it.
I am hoping because yours still says applied that you have a chance at one of the seats still up for grabs after March 3rd.
I have my schedule done for summer and fall so that I will be done with all my pre reqs by December. I will then take 2 "fun classes" in the spring to stay enrolled.
I really hope my new plan works. My first plan had holes all over the place and I couldn't see them.
I am also relieved that it actually seems to be a fair system.
I scored in the 99th percentile on the PAX-RN and was rejected, pretty safe to say it wasn't considered. Had most prereqs completed except for speech and a second English.
The pax is either pass/fail. No points given for the score. I scored in the 97th percentile and was denied. You definitely need to have all the pre reqs done. It's all about how many points you have. Each class grade had points attached to it. Also, any classes registered this semester do not count. They have to be completed classes.
I think its pretty safe to say that unless your GPA is at least 3.5/3.6 or higher you need to have ALL your pre reqs complete at the they review your application. Having all A's at 5 points each (which at 10 classes gives you 50 points) vs having all B's (only 30 points) makes a HUGE difference. Which conversely means that if you have anything below a 3.2 you probably have not shot at getting in regardless of how many classes you complete.
So in order for me to have been accepted with my current GPA I would have needed at least 8 classes to have been completed, and I only had about 5, but 1 was only a 1 credit course. I wish they had 2 nursing sessions per year. If they had one for Spring of 2016 Im sure I could get in for that. But alas.... Fall 2016 here we come
