LSU Spring 2019 BSN

Hello!

Are you applying this summer to LSU Traditional BSN-Spring 2019? If so, I hope this thread serves you as a fountain of information during this application period. I am sure many of you, like myself, are very excited and anxious for what's to come in the upcoming weeks/months, yet with so many questions to be answered. Please, if you have a concern or have something you might want to share about the application process or HESI, make yourself at home and don't be shy to share! I guarantee you there will always be more than one or two that will either have the same question or answer as you do. Good luck on the process, and I hope we all get accepted and start attending LSU SON Spring 2019! Geaux Tigers!

I submitted mine yesterday. I'm not used to recording myself, so that was a bit interesting for me. On my last video though, which was the demonstration, the beginning was cut-off by couple seconds. I did mention the technical issue on the review. To those that still need to record and submit, good luck!

My essay is scheduled for Tuesday. I am officially panicking. I know we receive the topic and have 30 minutes to write, but does anyone know how long the essay is expected to be? Is it hand written or do we have access to computers to type it? Good luck, y'all.

I scheduled my essay for Tuesday too, at 10. From reading through old forums, it sounds like it will be done on a computer. The 30 minute time limit is freaking me out, but I'm trying not to stress. :cat:

I am scheduled to do the proctored essay on Tuesday at 11 AM. From what I've read on their website and other message boards, it sounds like we will have a computer to type the essay on, and it needs to be 2 pages at the most. Has anyone already done the essay? Any ideas on what the topic might be? I'm a nervous wreck about that time limit without having a topic to think about beforehand. Good luck yall!

I am getting a little nervous! My essay is scheduled for Tuesday @ 11:00am. I had no idea that the essay

is to be typed. Not really what I was expecting. I was ready to write until my fingers fell off lol. Anyways,

Good Luck everyone!

My appointment is tomorrow! Like many of you, I am quite nervous about the essay. Good for ya'll that did it today, you can now relax! So how did you guys feel about the essay? Did they do the tour before or after the essay?

It's okay guys! Take a deep breath before you start. It really wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. The tour really helps to take your mind off of the essay for a while and it helps you relax. All of your questions will get answered. Good Luck y'all!

You are right about the tour helping out to calm down the nerves. Everyone there was so nice, at least that was my experience. Just wish we had more time to tour the campus and maybe 15 minutes extra to complete the essay. The question really caught me off guard though, but it was a fun question. I feel so much better now that every step of the application is done and over! Just hope these few weeks go by fast. They did say we will hear from them after October 8th right? Ms Tracie said there were about 140 eligible applicants and 110 will be accepted. Good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone, How do y'all feel about the essay? Did everyone finish in time? How did y'all feel about the prompt?

Hey I applied with an 84 on the HESI also! I feel really good about my interview and my written statement to make up for if that 84 is not good enough. I'm proud of my 84 though!

@nanare, I really agree with you on the wishing we had more time to tour the campus. I felt like my tour was so rushed. We didn't even get to see everything, and to answer your question, I think she said we'll hear back by the end of that week.

@KailaG, the essay prompt really threw me off guard. I was able to finish but I'm hoping it won't hurt my chances since I only had a page and a half. It's probably not the big of a deal but I'm low-key stressing.

The tour was fun, lightened the mood. I wish we could have looked at the cadaver labs. It was locked on my tour. I only typed one page for the essay, i'm not a fast writer and overthink every sentence. The topic definitely caught me off guard as well but I did the best I could do. 110 people out of 140 is pretty good odds of getting accepted. My Hesi score was above average but gpa a bit lower so I'm hoping the interview and essay add some points. I wonder how they score the interview and essay. Anyone know?
