LSU Spring 2019 BSN

Hello!

Are you applying this summer to LSU Traditional BSN-Spring 2019? If so, I hope this thread serves you as a fountain of information during this application period. I am sure many of you, like myself, are very excited and anxious for what's to come in the upcoming weeks/months, yet with so many questions to be answered. Please, if you have a concern or have something you might want to share about the application process or HESI, make yourself at home and don't be shy to share! I guarantee you there will always be more than one or two that will either have the same question or answer as you do. Good luck on the process, and I hope we all get accepted and start attending LSU SON Spring 2019! Geaux Tigers!

Hey there,

I used the following test prep books for the HESI (my score was a 93): Admission Assessment Exam Review / Edition 4 by HESI | 978

Hi Stacie!

I only used this HESI book to study and I got a 95.

The essay was fairly easy to complete despite how bad the topic just threw me off guard (I wasn't expecting such a light-hearted topic). I had a page and a half; a few people in this thread did too. Just like tiffanymae said, I think they're more concerned with whether or not you can form coherent sentences, so that honestly should be the least of your worries hun. Plus, they take you on a tour around the School of Nursing building before taking the essay which definitely helps to relax you.

As far as the HESI score goes, definitely try to get an 80 or above since 80 is the minimum, but also don't put too much pressure on yourself. From what I was told, they look at everything (HESI, GPA, interview, and essay) equally and assign points, so if you don't do well in one, you always have the other three to fall back on.

I hope this helped!
