2014 LPN students

Published

This thread is for those who is about to start LPN program. It will be great if we keep each other posted on our excited journey, share the experience and maybe answer questions that others will have about the program.

So, i guess i start. On July 11 i will be starting 11 months long program at one of the local technical schools. My mandatory orientation is on June 10 where, according to letter that I received, we will be given our first homework (a month before the actual course starts!!!). I am 31 y.o married and have a 3 y.o son. I work as a CNA and I will continue working p.t during the program. I am very nervous because I haven't take any science classes since high school. English is my second language but that will not be a problem. I chose the LPN path because I love to work at the patience bedside, i can earn decent money and gain more hands on experience. I am planing to further my education after becoming LPN.

I am wishing everyone who is about to start or just started good luck! Lets do it together

I am taking Human Development Across a Lifespan and Anatomy & Physiology early for college credits. My actual LPN program begins July 28th. I am a single mom to a beautiful 4 year old and I work two jobs. Been a CNA for almost 4 years and I work part time as a CDS Homemaker. Open to any advice lol.

Oh and I live in Poplar Bluff MO but will be attending TRCC in Kennet MO

I start my lpn program on August 6 at ncc in Platte city mo. I'm so excited!!

Hi everyone,

New here and very excited (and nervous). I'll be starting a full-time 12 month LPN program on June 23rd in the Philadelphia area. Our orientation is scheduled for next week. I am a mom of twin 12 year old girls (and two grown boys). I will not be working while attending classes which is definitely a plus for me as it will allow me more time to focus on my studies. Previously I attended a local community college as a pre-nursing student, but when I had to go back to work there was no time for clinicals. Now that I'm not working and have a little more time, I can focus on school and getting licensed as an LPN, and then go for my RN degree. Thankfully I have all of the pre-reqs and most of my gen eds out of the way. Good luck to everyone here! I can't wait to read about everyone's experiences and share my own.

congratulations to you all.the procedure here in san diego for admission is different.is there any of you from san diego california?

a long waiting list in the community colleges here qnd the private universities are expensive. congratulations once again and i wish you luck.

Congrats!! It's hard work! I wish you the best. I'm not sure how far away that is lol.

I take my TEAS test on Friday and as long as I get a 50 (I've been studying so I should be good) I will start school on September 8th which is actually my separation date from the Air Force! I am VERY excited and a little nervous but I think as long as you put all you can into it you should be fine! I have a 2 year old son and my husband is active duty Air Force and will be moving with me and commuting an hour to work everyday (LOVE HIM!) so I can be closer and more committed to school!

Good luck to everyone that will be starting school soon. This morning I took my pax pn exam and passed with flying colors now I am waiting to see if I get in (fingers crossed). If I do get accepted I will be starting Oct 2nd at galen in San antonio. I will be getting married Oct 3rd of 2015 so on top of nursing school I will be planning a wedding eekkk. But luckily I will not be working so that means I will hopefully be able to have time for both things. Super excited to start my nursing journey. I should be getting me acceptance letter or rejection. Letter in 2 to 3 weeks until I will be one anxious individual
