You just have to enroll and everything is done for you the day of your class and time is what you're waiting for but the school will determine that for you. When you go to amazon you can choose the van day program and on the left hand side it has the courses listed the first 3 course numbers are for the first quater. You can verify with the program list your advisor should have given you if they didn't you can look it up in the website under becoming a student and looking at the lvn day program it will tell you how the quaters are broken down

April 2014 Galen LVN
I know this really doesn't have anything to do with the thread but I just got my acceptance for the SA oct 2014 session and i was just wondering how much your uniform were and where did you order them from. when I had my meeting and walk through of the campus my advisor said that they were anywhere from 100 to 250 depending on where you got them from. I just want to get ahead of the game and start buying things slowly over the summer so that i don't have to spend close to 1000 at one time. thanks

NLN PAX
I just used the book for everything except the math I used khan academy to help me do the math quick because you can't use a calculator for the math so you have to do division and fractions and percentages all on your own. I used th e book as a quide so I knew what to study but I needed the extra help. You may not need it. But it helped me alot

NLN PAX
They use them to determine what to put on future tests so they don't count against or for you. It'sstrictly for research. You get an hr for each section 80questions for science and verbal and 54 questions for math. You can start the next section when you're finished or you can take the entire hr and then move on to the next section. I didn't even use the cd because it was compatible with my mac I just used the book and khan academy for the math portion.

NLN PAX
I used the book I think it helped a ton. It definitely helped me prepare for what was going to be on the test. My school required 96 I got 127. I did really good on the verbal and math. The science was a lil tricky it was mostly cell functions and biology based chem. There are 200 questions but 20 are experimental so really your score is out of 180. Timing myself while taking the test Def help me to use my tI me wisely. I had about 40 mins to spare over all while the other 2 used the entire 3 hours.

2014 LPN students
Good luck to everyone that will be starting school soon. This morning I took my pax pn exam and passed with flying colors now I am waiting to see if I get in (fingers crossed). If I do get accepted I will be starting Oct 2nd at galen in San antonio. I will be getting married Oct 3rd of 2015 so on top of nursing school I will be planning a wedding eekkk. But luckily I will not be working so that means I will hopefully be able to have time for both things. Super excited to start my nursing journey. I should be getting me acceptance letter or rejection. Letter in 2 to 3 weeks until I will be one anxious individual

Galen LVN oct 2014 hopeful SA, TX
So, this morning I took my PAX PN exam and I got a 127!! I only needed to get a 96 that I was excited to see my passing score. The test was pretty easy but I did order the study guide from NLN so that was a huge help. The admissions advisor told me to really focus on the verbal portion of the test because they really look at the score when reviewing for admissions. The math was ironically my best score, I was terrified that I was going to fail being that you can NOT use a calculator... I've basically had a calculator glued to my hair since 6th grade. I focused a lot of studying basic math and doing tons of practice questions and even use Khan Academy online to help refresh my brain. The science is what got me I studied the science portion but thought that there would be a lot more medically related questions but it was surprisingly more biology based chemistry and cell functions. After the test I met with my assigned admissions advisor and he was really pleased with my scores so I am very hopefully that I will be getting an acceptance letter (fingers crossed). He said that the admissions counselor meet every 2 weeks but there was a possibility that they might meet today (june 18th). So there is a possibility that I might have a decision tomorrow if not within the nest 2- 3 weeks I should hear something back. I have applied for the Oct 2nd session. so fingers crossed that I get in and maybe I will be seeing some of you there with me. Good luck to everyone that is applying for nursing school and taking entrance exams!!
