LPN starting pay?

Published

Hi, I'm a new graduate. Does anyone know the starting pay for LPN's?

Specializes in Home care, Case Management, Pediatrics.

It depends on the location and or experience. $18-$30+ per hour. I met someone who earned $49,000 on her first LPN job in NY,with no experience.

Specializes in LTC, Memory loss, PDN.

Most LPNs are paid hourly wages, however there is much more to consider than just the $ per hour. Benefits, which can add up to thousands of dollars per year, are a must for some, while others do not necessarily need a comprehensive package. And then there are the all important factors which will directly affect your lifestyle, such as what hours/shift, distance to work, and many more. Last not least, your wages will depend on your geographical area and the economic situation in that area. There are many threads with posts that cite exact figures, but imo the numbers alone are meaningless. Why not do some research in your community to get a good idea of what kind of lifestyle you'll be able to lead.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Threads merged due to the same subject of LPN starting pay.

Thats similar to the DC area also. I started out at $23. My friends that did perdiem in LTC were making $28 but that was a few years ago.

Man, I'm only making 13.50/hr here in NW Ohio. But it is an assisted living facility and I do get about a $2/hr "bonus" after 3 months and at a year to promote longevity as they have had a lot of turnover.
