Hello everyone I will be starting my second semester of LPN school in Jan. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect for the 2nd semester. I was told that it would be ped's and OB.
Also, I was wondering if anyone found the 2nd semester easier or harder than the 1st semester.

Hi,
We didn't do peds and ob until our 3rd (last) semester so my experience might not help you but I thought the second semester was a bit tougher material wise and they raised the bar with the skills they expected us to know but all in all the routine was familiar so I felt better than the first semester. Good luck!

I'm almost finished with my second semester of Lpn school and we did have peds and ob. We also had med surg. I think that the second semester has been easier because you know what to expect and you know what the instructors expect from you.

We finished up our LPN program with Peds/OB, and I loved it. The material seemed straightforward and not overly difficult. For Peds, we had to know our developmental theorists, and vital sign norms for each age group.
Enjoy!

We start our second trimester tomorrow, and will be covering disorders of the different body systems, and the meds used to treat the disorders. We don't do OB, peds, etc until tri 3.
