LPN/LVN rate of pay in your area.

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

Any idea about the Virginia Beach area?

If you dont mind answering, how did you get the job in the plastic surgeons office? This is the type of work I want to get into, but I figured you might have to be an RN.

I was out of a job and just looked in the want ads of my newspaper....it was, as simple as that! :coollook:

This doc did not want a RN....he was looking for a LPN

The jobs are out there...keep looking!

The timing was right for me and I fell into a great job!

I live in NYC and work in The Bronx for the past ten years. I know that the nurses in ambulatory care start at $34,000.00 a year these are new grads. There is a scale based on years experience. 0-5 $34,000 5-9 $36,000 10 or more years $39,000. This is union scale. When you are looking at the yearly rate you have to think about "how are the benifits" And, what is the cost of living in your area? :Melody:

I live in Kansas City and I make $18.50/hr plus differentials after that and I am full time with benefits. Our PRN LPNs make $22-25, but I applied for some agency jobs this week and I was only offered $18 at one place and $20 at another and I am also IV cert. I was only making $14/hr at my last job with no differentials, you can see why I left. So, I would say that in this area it would be $14-$22/hr. Hope this helps you!

I would like to do agency work as well. I am working at an Assisted living facility, I work afternoons, only nurse there with 54 residents. I never stop. I don't get differential and my hourly pay is $14 an hour. I am sooo tired because I never get done till like 12, sometimes later than that. I am originally from MI. It is getting quite difficult to keep this pase up for only $14, raises they don't give. If you tell me what agencies are best I would appreciate it so much Also I need health benefits as we all do. Thanks

I have been an LPN for 20 years in central Ohio . at the present I hold the position as LPN ,RD,HCC at an assisted living . I make 24 90 an hour, but keep in mind I have to do it all

are ther any other Assisted living LPN's out there

I am like you, however I only make $14 an hour, only nurse there with 57 residents. i am sooo tired I work 3-11 no shift differential and they dont ever give raises. I want to find another job. I am also looking for an agency that pays with health benefits. Any suggestions

nursing pools pay 18.00 to 23.00 here in the idaho area , depending on the exp. but the last time i worked in the denver area 12 years ago . thru a staffing service i was making 22.50 /hr. time has change but the money is still the same....... :coollook:

Im also becoming an LPN and I was wondering what is you location and what part of MI do you come from the reason I ask it cause im thinking of Moving to MI sometime after i finish my lpn study...

I am working in a LTC facility in West Tennessee. I started there in January when I got my license. I started out at 12.50 an hour, .75 shift diff (2-10), and 1.00/hr attendance bonus. I asked no questions at the time, was desperate for a job and wanted to beat out the other graduates in this little area for a decent, close to home job. Love my job, hate the hours. Great benefits, pay could improve, lol. I am about 70 miles from Dyersburg. I have a friend who started at another nearby facility for 13/hour with no benefits, so I guess I'm pretty much in line for a new LPN.

I definet would not get out of bed for that pay at all...

Hi, I am in Montgomery, AL now. I lived in MI all my life and miss it. I am from Oakland County, Rochester Hills. If I decide to move back it will probably be like in Berkley, or Clinton Township. Don't know. My 2 best friends are in Oakland county. So it would be close to them. I don't really know anyone here except people at work.

Any Alabama LPN's ?

I live in Montgomery. Pay here I guess from low to agency good. At this time I am looking for a lot higher pay that I am getting now.Where are you at in AL?

:coollook: I am an LPN in North Louisiana and the rate of pay here for LPN's in LTC 15-16 dollars per hour. Agency LPN's in LTC make 20-21 M-F SAT and SUN 22/hr. Dr's OFFICE is 15-18. VA 20/hr. Agency School Nurse is 18/hr. Agency Jail Nurse is M-F 13.00/hr Sat-Sun 14.00/hr.(need more money for putting up with inmates). Agency Nurse in Hospital Setting is 21.00/hr on a speciality floor i.e. Cardiac,Telemetry 26.00/hr for LPN.

How long did you move to AL you seem sad to be over thiere just hang in thiere you get to know people soon it just like taking your 1st steps at firt you afriad but, after 2 or more fall you get the hang of it stick it out dont quit get out thier and mingleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :roll :clown: :chuckle
