Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

Hello

I am from Michigan and though I am not a nursing student quite yet I do know that 2 people who worked with me in the LTC Facility that I am currently at graduated from their LPN program and went to a county facility starting out at $19.00 per hour. Thats not too bad for a new graduate LPN.

P>S> Although Michigan is now getting more expensive to live in !!!!!!!

I have a brother who lives in Wayne County and i myself was thinking moving to Wayne County until I found out that it nothing but a Crime County so, can you recommend me a nice and affordable area in Michigan??? I also will be a LPN Student in September of 05 and was wondering what does an LPN make in a Hospital out thier??? :nurse:

:angryfire LPNs make $10.95 in oklahoma. :angryfire

WHAT? SOMEBODY CALL THE COPS!! A CNA can make that easy in IL starting out. What do the Rn's make there? A front desk receptionist makes that in NC.

Whoa, where at in Oklahoma? Sheesh can you drive across the boarder into Texas?

I actually did that for a while.Graduated from nursing school in OK, didn't even make twice as much as I did as an aide. Ended up going across the border for $4/hr more, still had to pay OK taxes, so moved to TX and let my OK license go, have kept TX. Not worth the hassle of keeping up with both if you're only using one. Besides the taxes, the benefits are tons better. I think most of the CNA's in TX make more than most nurses in OK now.

I live in Northern California and just called my local hospital for pay rates this past week. As an LVN, I would make $22.50 per hour to start..this is with 10 years experience...and $24.50 per hour if I had my IV certification (which I don't). RN's would make $39.00 per hour...wow!

Yeah, which hospital did you check with? Seton in Daly City pays some of the students who graduated from the program I am about to also graduated from 27 dollars per hour. That is the truth unless they have lied to us. In San Jose, some hospitals pay as much as 30. I am hoping for the best.

Good Luck.

I work in a small town in west texas and i have been a nurse for a year, they started me out at $12.40/hr. with $1.25 weekends, i am currently going back to school for my RN :)
Let me know what part of texas that is @ so when I decided to move to texas I don't plan to move thiere... cause out here in New Haven, Ct that is the same pay scale that a CNA get.... :uhoh21:  :banghead: :lol_hitti :smackingf :selfbonk:

well in cleveland the pay is pretty good in ltc. I am a new grad and made 17.91 at one ltc facility and left to go to another that pays 20 per hour.

I have heard of some ltc pay upto 24 per hr. hospitals and such start at about 16 per/hr with the better bennies than ltc.

i want to move to a warm climate with high dollars and low cost of living.

let me know who is making the money and living in a low cost of living warm city

This message is for Kimmy the SVN. I am a new grad LVN in Southern California (Riverside County to be exact). I make 17.50 w/ benefits, every other weekend off. No shift differential. ONly one person out of my class makes more than me that I know of at 18.50/hr. I think whoever told you you'd be making that much lied. Maybe LA county pays close to that?

I am working in a LTC facility in West Tennessee. I started there in January when I got my license. I started out at 12.50 an hour, .75 shift diff (2-10), and 1.00/hr attendance bonus. I asked no questions at the time, was desperate for a job and wanted to beat out the other graduates in this little area for a decent, close to home job. Love my job, hate the hours. Great benefits, pay could improve, lol. I am about 70 miles from Dyersburg. I have a friend who started at another nearby facility for 13/hour with no benefits, so I guess I'm pretty much in line for a new LPN.

I am working in a doctor's office...Plastic Surgeon.....Long Island,NY

$21.00 /hour

Christmas bonus $1500.00

I am due for a raise this summer....and I will get it :chuckle

I have been in this office for 9 months...love it!

If you dont mind answering, how did you get the job in the plastic surgeons office? This is the type of work I want to get into, but I figured you might have to be an RN.
