Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

i am considering lpn school in jacksonville...anyone from this area who can offer insight as to what a new grad makes just out of school?

I am in south central PA and the pay in my area (for a new lpn) ranges from 13.70 on up, most are in the 15.00-17.00 range with differentials on top of that. I am currently working as a GPN at a LTCF I make 16.50 + 1.00 shift diff, I understand I will get a good raise once I pass my boards. They also have really good benefits where I am. The place that hires at 13.70 to start is the "county home" but I hear that the benefits there are worth the low pay, I have been in this facility (we did our geriatrics clinicals there) and I don't care how good the benefits are, I wouldn't work there for that kind of money, or any for that matter! :uhoh3:

I live in eastern tennessee, working in LTC, new grad about 7 months, my first job i was making 13.25/hr 15min drive PRN, my second LTC job full time, decent single person benefits, making 14.00/hr, then I got a dollar raise plus .50cents shift differential for 2nd shift 15.50/hr about 30min drive, now I just started a new job about 45/min drive, wanted to start me out at 12.00 but got them up to 15.00, including .50 shift diff, but this LTC is in a very rural area and I really enjoy getting to know the residents and their lifestyles and life stories, I think doctors offices around here pay around 12-13, one nearby hospital starts around 14.00 but all the other hospitals are around 12-13 all of this is for

Does anyone know the pay rate for LPN's in the West Central Illinois Area?

Eastern Washington-LTC's are paying LPN's $18-20 an hour. I was told that the new facility-Richland Rehabilitation Center in Richland, WA is starting LPN's at $20 an hour. They have an ad in the paper right now looking for LPN's full-time all shifts.

Does anyone know what the starting pay for a new LPN graduate is in Tampa, FL?

:angryfire LPNs make $10.95 in oklahoma. :angryfire

I MADE THAT 10 YEARS AGO AS A CNA!!! :crying2:

I live in Northern California and just called my local hospital for pay rates this past week. As an LVN, I would make $22.50 per hour to start..this is with 10 years experience...and $24.50 per hour if I had my IV certification (which I don't). RN's would make $39.00 per hour...wow!

Cali Girl what hospital was that, if you don't mind me asking????

I live in central Ohio , I've been at the same long term care facility since 1985. I am finally just over $18.00 / hour. I think they start the new hires at $16.00 ,, but it also depends on experience. The local agency starts LPN's out at $19.00 per hour during the week and $21.00 on the weekend.

You must be insane to stay at the LTF for that long a time and only get $18.00 dollars and Hr I would have been gone lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg time ago apperantly they must not appricaite your skill that much if your getting pay that little and it took ]you that long to get $18.00 dollers only... :lol_hitti :lol_hitti :lol_hitti

I live in texas (in a very small town). I work L&D, med surg, and ER at the local hospital and make 14.00 plus shift differential (1.00 weekends, 1.50 nights). I know an LVN that makes 32.00 hour doing the weekend plan in Fort Worth. I have been considering applying where she works and making the drive 3 days a week (120 miles).

It the pay is that good in forthworth then why not move out thier instead of putting that mile on your car???? :uhoh3:

Not an LVN yet, just a student... In the Dallas/Fort Worth area the nursing home I used to work at started out at $19, I would guess that average is $17-mid twenties. Cost of living is rather inexpensive in our area too, houses are so cheap here compared to the west coast, you can get at least twice the house for the same money it seems! So to anwser that person's question, yes on two LVN's salaries you can get a pretty nice house in Dallas/Fort Worth.
Thank you for the information on the homes in Dallas/Forth Worth I believe me and my fiance'e and my 2 boy will be calling Dallas/Forth Worth home real soon... :roll :yelclap: :flowersfo :bowingpur :yeah: :redbeathe  :icon_hug:
