Last night my great grandmother (Granny) had what they think was an anurysim that burst in the left ventrical in her brain. At 6pm last night she was okay, walking, talking. At 7pm my uncle found her almost unresponsive on the floor of her home. An ambulance was called. She was taken to ER.
At the ER, she was given a CT scan, and it was determined that she had a massive brain bleed on the left side of brain and it had discolored the left side of her brain. She is uable to speak clearly. She can still move her her hands and feet as of now. She knows that my family is there.
She if she makes it to Sept 6, she will be 94 yrs old.
The Dr's gave her 24hrs to a week....that was yesterday.
She doesn't seem to be in any pain, but if she does get restless she has an order for morphine every hour if needed.
She went directly from the ER to hospice.
She is sleeping most of the day. I think that she will slowly go to sleep and not wake up.....thats what I'm hoping. I can't stand for her to be in any pain.
She has been saying for years that she is ready go...I guess I'm just not quite ready to let her go yet.
I know that she will be okay....I know what once she passes she will not be in any more pain.
Thanks for listening...

She made it to her 94th birthday. The doctors' didn't think that she would. She actually talked today. I'm at work right now...but after work I'm going to try and see her. She has family with her at all times. She knows she is loved.
THANK YOU ALL FOR LISTENING AND FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

I just got a text from my dad who is visiting with Granny....I am at work and am unable to see her right now....the text states...Granny ate some pudding and drank water with a straw today. They are going to have her eat an evening meal in a little bit. I don't know if this is good sign....or a bad one. As soon as I get off work I am going to go see her. She has made it past the week mark.....Made it past her birthday.....Maybe she is holding on until my cousin has her baby which is due in late October....that is the only reason that I can think of that she is still holding on. I don't want to get my hopes up....but I can't help but thinking.....Granny's gonna make it.....
Thanks for listening....and keeping Granny and I in your prayers.....THANK YOU

I saw Granny yesterday during the day. She drank coffee....got up in the chair for the first time since she was admitted. AND SHE TALKED!!! well, mumbled more like it..... but.....we could understand most of it.....
Hospice is thinking about transfering her out of hospice....which may be a good thing....
She is definately back to the Granny I have always known.....
She got a letter from a doc that took care of her years ago stating..... "You are a cat with ten lives...." and that is a description that definatly fits Granny.....
AGAIN>>>Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.....I will keep you updated!!!!

Beginning Monday Granny will be transfered to Extended care in the hospital that she was/is in hospice......
She will be seeing a speech therapist and a physical therapist. Now her good days are far surpassing her bad days. Her bad days are consisting of her being sleepy and figity. Her good days are when she is up most of the day and talks/mumbles to everyone who comes and sees her.
She is acting more and more like the Granny I have always know and loved. She still tries to be as independent as she can be. Her right side is still very weak, but....watch out for her left side....there is nothing wrong with that side. Our family still has a constant vigial at her side. She is never alone. She is eating good to very well at each meal.
And to think.....everyone in our family thought that a little ole' massive interal brain bleed could slow our Granny down.......APPAERENTLY NOT!!!!
She is 94.
She may have right sided weakness.....but that doesn't stop her from using her left side.
She has her friends and family to support her.
She is a fighter.
She is MY GRANNY.
AGAIN.....THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS....THANK YOU FOR LISTENING....AND THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT...
AND PLEASE KEEP GRANNY IN YOUR PRAYERS.
