Hi fellows. I just found out I lost my passport which is my only identification . I will taking my nclex rn in a week and I'm crazy thinking what to do. I have debit card visa which has my photo and signature and I read in Pearson vue I can use that but a credit card. I dunno if that's the same. I'm crazy thinking what will I do if I'll gonna renew my passport it will take forever cos I will get affidavit of lost and them renew which they say will take 8 wks. I scheduledy exam at the maximum validity so I can't do anything to adjust. Anyone encountered using credit card with photo as there identification? Thanks a lot .

I don't mean to sound insensitive, because I'm sure your stressed out having lost your ID... I'm just wondering if YOU really want this for yourself. Do you really WANT this? I only ask because I've read your other posts and you've said previously that when you took the exam and failed you didn't take it seriously... Now your waiting till the last day your passport is valid to take the NCLEX and a week out and your without a VERY important document in order to sit for it? This just doesn't sound like someone driven..
My exam was the last day of my ATT validity and last chance to exam that why I'm worried.. Renewing a passport is too long. I have a xerox copy of my passport notarized. And I dunno if it will allow them since it's notarized .. That's why my only hope is my credit card with photo..
Yes, for real. Nowhere on NCSBN or Pearson Vue website does it indicate that a credit card is a valid form of ID. You are not eligible for a USA state issued id as you are not a citizen or permanent legal resident. Your bigger issue is that you have no valid id and you are physically in the US, on what I am assuming is a valid tourist visa. (As an aside, If you overstayed your tourist visa you have bigger legal issues than having valid ID to sit the NCLEX. )
As I quoted in my response above the ONLY ACCEPTABLE identification to sit the NCLEX in the USA is a valid US state issued drivers license or non-drivers id (as a tourist you are not eligible), US military ID (not applicable to you) or a valid passport....not a credit or debit card with a photo imprint (how could this be valid with no date of birth , address, official seal or description such as height, weight or eye color?!?). A notarized copy of a passport is also not acceptable as an original document must be presented.
Please link to the source where you think a credit/debit card or photo copy of a passport is considered valid proof of identity for NCLEX or any other purpose.
If the person isn't a US Citizen, there's no way to get a US Passport. It sounds like this person is completely dependent upon their own Government for Passport issuance, unless their own Passport is somehow located, all before the exam date. That or pay another $200 and whatever other amount is needed for ATT.
You can get a passport renewal in as quick as 24 hours for $250. State issue ID is fairly cheap and can be done quickly also.
State ID is not applicable to the OP as they are not a US citizen or permanent resident. As they are a Filipino resident on a tourist visa who lost their passport, a US passport renewal is not relevant, they need a replacement. OP stated that Filipino passport replacement processing takes ~8 weeks.
A state ID for a qualified citizen/permanent resident can be obtained same day, these are issued at the DMV/MVC or equivalent and with proper proof of identification and immigration status can be issued relatively quickly.
You can definitely get a passport in under 24 hours, but it will cost the usual passport fee, plus an additional fee of up to $250. Google passport expedition for companies that offer this service.
In the US, yes. But the OP is from the Philippines and physically in the USA. According to the Filipino government a minimum of 15 day wait to replace a lost passport & it must be done in person. A police report is requested also. If there is a 15 day wait, and you are scheduled to test next week it seems you are out of luck for this next test date and will forfeit the $200 fee.
Perhaps the OP is confusing the METHOD OF PAYMENT for the exam with the required ID to actually sit for the exam?A debit or credit card is used for that purpose and I believe that is where his/her misunderstanding isoccurring.
Now that makes sense. As the ID requirements are not listed on the Pearson website that I could find, only on NCSBN that I quoted above
I know when I went and took my paramedic test at Pearsonvue, the ID requirements were different so I imagine it is the test that sets the ID requirements. We had to have one photo ID that was the usual state-issue ID or passport and another one that had a signature on it. The first one was a very rigid "this is the only ones we accept" though. For the 2nd one, I used my school ID although other people used their credit cards.
I remember rereading the NCLEX testing instructions again to make sure I didn't need to bring in a copy of my ATT (we had to for the NREMT, which is the paramedic test) and how many IDs I needed.
So maybe she is mixing up different test requirements?

No, it has to be either a passport or state issued id. You are going to have to get a new passport if you plan on returning to your home country anyway. You can't leave without a passport. Or if you plan on staying I would start finding out how to become a citizen. The fact that you have no id now is a bigger issue than taking the NCLEX. I don't know of anywhere that accepts a credit card as a form of id. The people who are doing that are wrong in doing so. The only thing that should help with is not having to show id when you sign for a credit card purchase. It is not be used as an official id.
