I just found out tonight I'm starting this August!! I swear it feels like a dream; I never thought I would get in. There are about 500 names for 44 spots and it's done by lottery. This is my first time applying and I GOT IN!! I've never won anything in my life and this totally makes up for it~lol.

hi everyone!
i'm so excited i found this site too! i won't be able to attend the nursing orientation this saturday, so please, please feel free to post what you guys find out! also, cynthia (the nursing head) is on vacation until july 15. no wonder we've all had a hard time reaching anyone :) anyways, i'm brittany and i can't wait to meet you all august 13th. i'm thrilled just to have made it this far! like some of you, i'm new to the campus and kind of nervous, but mostly excited! i am registered for cpr, had my physical, passed the teas, and now i just have to wait! i still feel like i have a million questions though! good luck to you all and i'll see you girls soon!

i'm so glad that more students are jumping in. stephanie and i have been going back and forth between just the two of us~lol. i got in the program, i wasn't an alternate. i had already taken my teas, i got my cpr last year, and i have all my immunizations/titers through work (i work at john muir hospital). they said they mailed my packet in june, but i never received it. i've been trying for weeks to get it until i finally got someone to help me last night. i spoke with an operator and was told that the department of instruction was handling messages and stuff for the nursing department. the lady there was super nice; she went over to the nursing deptartment and found a packet for me, so i was finally able to pick it up last night. i'm getting my physical done today :)
i can't believe we'll be starting in 4 short weeks!! i have been waiting for this moment for about 15 years. i started my pre-reqs 3.5 years ago and i just can't believe it's finally here!! i've taken all my classes at lmc, so let me know if you have any questions about the campus. i also have good friends that have graduated from the nursing program there, so i'm pretty familiar with how it all works.
brittany~congrats!! we will be sure to update any info we get on saturday :)

Yes it's nice to get familiar with each other before classes start. I also did all my pre-req's at LMC. I finished them 2 1/2 years ago & have been waiting to get in somewhere. I am so glad it was LMC since I live so close (Brentwood)!! Is anyone else local?? I will be doing my CPR & online courses this week, then I will be done!! Has anyone ordered the kit yet??
i took my previous classes in santa rosa at their jc and applied to 4 community colleges this fall. lucky me, i got into lmc on my first try!! i've also heard horror stories about people trying for years :/ i am moving to antioch this month though so i will be local! i've wondered the campus a couple times in the last few weeks, but it's all still new!
i haven't yet ordered my lab kit...speaking of, does anyone have a good idea about the sizes? we get to choose from 6,7,8, or 9 i believe. usually i wear medium so i was thinking of going with 7 and hopefully that works!
thanks for keeping an ear open for me at the meeting in advance kristen!! i wanted to be there so bad, but i am actually in wa state right now. hope you all have a great time and keep me posted on what you decide to do about books :) congrats to all of you too!

i live in oakley, so i'm also local. i had been accepted to the delta program in stockton, as well, but i much prefer lmc. i didn't think i would get in on my 1st try. i'm surprised how many of us got in on our first try!!
i think i will be ordering a 7, as well. i wear a size small and one of the u/s techs i work with said she wears a small and a 6.5. since they don't offer 1/2 sizes, i figured i'd rather it be a little bigger rather than smaller. i thought maybe we could ask on saturday before ordering our kit. that's pretty much why i haven't ordered mine yet
Kristin,
Yeah, I also found some really cheap books, but I guess we'll find out more about books on Sat!!!! OMG! The clock IS ticking!!! I'm SO excited! =)
Monique,
Congrats! YAY! I am sure you are very excited! Kristin and I haven't stopped talking about just how excited we are! LOL! It's so funny because I am sure we both are driving are friends and family crazy talking about nursing school non-stop. LOL! But good thing is that we understand each other. =) I am glad that you joined/found us.. can't wait to meet you on Sat!

Monique,
I'm still working on my packet; waiting for Kaiser to fill the form out. I had to start a Heb B series and was due for Tetorifice immunization (fun!). I also need to do my CPR certification, and the online modules. It feels so overwhelming, but take it one step at a time. Congrats, again! =)

Kristin,
I am SO happy that you finally got your packet. That's great that the lady helped you out. Did she wear glasses? I know when I went to register for classes the woman that helped me was SUPER nice! LOL. I got the results of the titers and apparently I needed Hep B...wahh..more shots.
I know that I have not checked my email in a couple of days, but it feels like I have missed so much action! It's so great to meet two more of my classmates! Yay! By the way, have you heard anything about your friend?
Congrats Brittany! I am sure your are very excited! Whoo hooo! Glad you found us on this site. =) That's too bad that you can't come to the 'Meet and Greet' on Saturday, but we will def keep you posted!
Congrats Monique and Brittany!
- Stephanie =)
By the way, I have already ordered my Nursing kit. I measured the circumference of the palm of my hand to figure out the glove size...hope I picked the correct size. *crosses fingers* Has anyone started the online clinical orientation modules???? I really need to get on it! Talk to you all soon.

I Know, the packet can be overwhelming. Were you an alternate also? Thankfully I got my physical done first & for some reason my Hep B titer came back negative even though I have proof I had the series already!! I got my first one yesterday along with my first PPD & my second Hep B (which has to be done before the first day of school) is due on the 13th but they agreed to give it to me on the 12th. I also did the drug test. Do you have your CPR certification? I let mine expire 2yrs ago so I have to get that done. I made a timeline of when I have to do what so I can keep up on it. Good luck on getting your packet, I will see you on Saturday!!
