  1. I would call in a week regardless of the tracking system, especially since he asked you too. Maybe he is testing your initiative and wants to see how bad you want this position. With the market these days and sooo many grads wanting a job, following up is the best thing to do even if a prospective employer doesn't ask you to. Just my opinion, but I always follow up!
  2. Thinking back on that post, she offered her a CNA position... That could of potentially led to a RN position once she worked her butt off!!! IMO that experience could of been valuable.
  3. ashleyrosesf- Good post and I agree with you 100%!!! I am currently a Bay Area RN and have done exactly what you have done EXCEPT it did not pay off as quick as it did for you. I graduated last May and made contacts in a department I specifically wanted to work at... Perinatal Dept. They weren't hiring at the time and I kept in contact with them to show my continued interest. They opened a position and they contacted me to interview!!! So wish me luck! Dedication and hard work shows and although it may take a while to pay off, it's well worth the wait for me.
  4. Well stated. As a new nurse with only a year of experience, I know that my experiences with bedside nursing will provide me with the much needed background later in my career if I decide to make a change.
  5. I attended Merritt's LVN program for a year and saw the horror first hand. I then got into LMC RN program and graduated from there. HUGE DIFFERENCE. I have a friend you graduated from CCSF about a year ago and loved it. Had a wonderful experience.
  6. I would avoid Merritt!!! Wait until spring and attend ccsf.
  7. I too got a 98%. I studied using Saunders for about a week and passed with my first try! I'm sure you will do fine with that percentage ; ) Good Luck!
  8. They are the same. I was told that business partners split leading one to keep the name dansko and the other naming their shoe sanita.
  9. Well stated rubato! That was my intent with my post... Take responsibility. Nursing is a hard career filled with life long learning. After graduation, we still have sooo much more to learn and no one can entirely guide us through this process. A lot of what you learn is then applied to critical thinking processes that are vital to nursing. As the op stated, her test is way harder then NCLEX... So A&P should be really easy!!! The human body is the same whether from the U.S. or Canada!
  10. Take it as a lesson learned and continue to work hard. With that said, there is NO way to tell what you need to review when you take the NCLEX. All the info taught to prepare you to be a nurse is fair game. That's is YEARS worth of info!!!
  11. There are many offices, located in Walnut Creek, Antioch, and Pittsburg. It's an eye surgery clinic. Thank you for the info and congrats on your new position!
  12. I too have an interview at an ambulatory surgery center in the Bay Area. I am a new grad RN an I'm interested in what the pay typically is and how much I should ask for. What was the starting pay at your center?
  13. Anyone have a status change yet? Mine hasn't changed yet and I'm getting soo impatient! HR stated that they hope the interviewing process to start end of October with a start date around e d of November/beginning of December.
  14. The one that I filled out was a behavioral assessment...if that is what FB was implying? Took about 30 minutes to complete. Did everyone else have one when they submitted their application?
  15. I am a brand new grad...just this past May. I think you're right in your experience may have disqualified you, but I'm not sure. Did your status change from in review to diqualified or were there other statuses you had inbetween?
