One of the benefit of doing HH is flexibility. I usually start seeing my patient around 9am but that's my preference. I call my patient the day before. We use Kinnser and I can see my schedule ~ 3 to 4 days ahead. I can also move/arrange my patients around by coordinating with scheduler.

I just started HH early this year. I'm in Northern Cali - SOC $100, ROC $90, Eval $70, Routine $55; Mileage $0.55; $40/hr for meeting every month. Kinnser web base charting. Excel time sheet turn in via e.mail and on pay stub break they break down each category. I don't usually visit patients on weekends however I end up catching up charting (no pay).

I have a bag with divided compartments to put all my blood draw supplies; another medium size basket for dressing change supplies, and a plastic box to keep extra supplies in my car. A shoulder strap laptop bag for my laptop, notebook, papers, etc.

I always dilute Demerol. Didn't know it burned. Thanks Z71RN.

I found some info similar to my question but I would like to clarify and/or seek advice on my situation. I work in an ambulatory surgery center and doesn't have NS vial or pre-filled NS syringe to dilute. Therefore, when I need to dilute Demerol, I usually draw up LR first from the beg which is running on the patient then, I change the needle to filter needle and draw up the Demerol. Is this accurate or it doesn't matter? My rational for drawing LR first is that I'm afraid Demerol could by chance get into LR beg. Am I thinking way too much? Advice please. Thanks!!

Yeah..I got the job but they didn't start me right away. I am starting in 2 weeks. Kind of strange that they interviewed and hired me in November but they want me to start in 2 months later. Hope it worth the wait:)

Only have 2 months experience in LTC. According to DON, they do mainly for weight loss: laparoscopic gastric banding. As for pay, your pay is way more than I will get pay. They said they will increase the pay once I finished w/ the 6 weeks training and passed the test (hopefully big raise:)) Hopefully I get good training and experience for the pay cut. I recently went to home health "open house". I thought they gonna look at my resume and interview me instead there was a woman talking about what is like to be a home health nurse and a little bit about the company. She didn't ask us about how much HH experience we have. She just basically said if we interested fill out the application and fax it back to them and in 2 weeks we will get train on OASIS assessments to PICC line dressing changes to wound care. I did some research about them online and they seem to be legit. The BBB report was good "A-". They been in business since 2008. Here are the pay break down: Start of care $80 follow up $60 they provide w/ laptop, internet, cell phone and all supplies. I am a little concern about their hiring process and also sudden need of HH nurses as evidenced by "open house", and not asking our previous experiences. Anybody have same experience? Should I still fill out the application? Thanks.

Hey rntm85, Where is your ambulatory surgery center located? You don't have to say the name if you don't want to. Starts above mid 20s and goes up after the training and passed the test. Good luck w/ your interview!

I got the second interview today via skype. He offered me the job!! but the pay is pretty low though for Bay area California but he said when I finished with the training and pass the test, pay will go up.
