  1. I feel your pain. I will be moving to the Arlington/DC area from San Diego in October after I get married. I will be taking a 9 dollar pay cut. The sad thing is the cost of living is similar , if not more, in Arlington/DC. Sigh.
  2. Hi! How do you like being a Kaiser telephone RN? Is it stressful? What's a typical day like? Do you like the job? Any input you can give would be very helpful! Thanks in advance!
  3. I'm trying to get back into shape after the holiday!
  4. Hi. I was wondering if anyone has ever worked as a telemedicine specialist RN at Kaiser? If so, may you please describe your experience? Thanks!
  5. When the oncoming shift, starts off with , "I'm sorry..."
  6. Thank you for this! You took the words write out of my mouth. I, one time, had a patient call me to pull the blanket up over his shoulders! I wanted to scream! My coworker and I are applying to a per diem case manager RN job and hopefully that leads to something better!
  7. I'm going to echo what the above posters said and can say that the nursing job outlook is horrible right now, especially for new grads. I have 2 friends and it took them a year to find their first full time nursing jobs. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
  8. Do what you want and be done with it! Only you know what's right for you.
  9. Good luck to everyone! I was in your shoes 2 years ago. :)
  10. Laughing at the making them a sundae part. We are glorified waitresses.
  11. I agree with the post above. Just keep going forward. Learn from your mistakes and move on. It takes time to feel somewhat comfortable with nursing. We've all been there although some of the oldies forget what its like to be new. Find someone you can trust on your unit and vent to them. Hang in there!
  12. I always love reading your posts! I was laughing at the "crazy beast" part. Nice to know things haven't changed.
  13. I sent my thank you card in person and was hired a few days later. Its more personal that way. If you can, I recommend sending it in person. It shows effort.
  14. what a refreshing change! It's nice to see that someone loves their job.
  15. I'm 99% sure I got my new grad position because I hand delievered my thank you card to the interviewer. If you can't hand deliver, I suggest mailing it. A hand written thank you card is a way to ensure that the interviewer does not forget you. Good luck!
