Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there,

Has anyone applied to LAC School of Nursing for Fall 2019? I thought I would get this post going so we can stay informed and help each other through this waiting process! What are your points that you calculated?

Hi! I applied but I haven’t heard anything. Did u submit a Teas consent form? I was told they would email it to me but haven’t received anything. They just said to wait

Hi there!

I haven't received anything from them. Did you already submit your Teas scores? They should be sending out something for a written interview too, right?

Yes I submitted everything before the deadline. I believe they send both the written interview & the teas consent form together. This time around they added an in person interview as well..I got an 80.7 on teas-20. 4.0 on academic courses-70 & I also submitted work experience. did u apply at any other programs?

I'm eager to hear back. If you don't mind me asking, what are your calculated points? I also applied to Moorpark, COC, and Santa Monica. What about you?

I edited my previous response to include my points. How about you? Nice. Im waitlisted at LATTC, I applied at Rio Hondo, & I doubt I got into CSULB. Apparently they already sent out interviews for applicants w/higher scores :( Im also applying at msmu, usc, and i got into SFSU but i don’t know if I can make that move :(

I applied with 90ish points with a 90.7% on the Teas and I haven't heard anything back from them about an interview. Where did you hear that they had sent out interviews?

So cool! I hope we both get in! Oh sorry the interview part was for CSULB where I also applied. I didn’t get an interview for Csulb. But anyways, the LAC SON added an in person interview for the applicants w/the highest scores. The “communication exercise” is worth 5points..it’s on their website under student selection. So total possible points will be out of 99. I’m assuming we just have to wait to hear back from them.

Haha you did have me a bit worried there. I think we are both in the higher end of the scores, so let's stay hopeful! This will be the last program that I hear back from, but I just hear so many great things about the clinical experience there. Have you hear any news about the program from current or past students?

Ahh sorry! Didn’t mean to. Please keep me updated if they send out anything. I’ll do the same. Yes! A lot of people say if you can work at county you can work anywhere & it’s soo true. They see everything there. My bf did his rad tech externship there & he loved it. I also kno a girl who got in to the spring 19 cohort but she just barely started going to clinicals, she looks more stressed about the actual material but idk. Haven’t spoken to her in a while. I believe they do clinicals at old county, olive view, & I’m not 100% sure but harbor.

I got my acceptance email on Friday! Good luck to everyone

Awesome news! Congrats! Did you apply for the generic RN program? When did you complete the written interview portion? What were your point? Any info would be helpful! Thanks!
