Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there,

Has anyone applied to LAC School of Nursing for Fall 2019? I thought I would get this post going so we can stay informed and help each other through this waiting process! What are your points that you calculated?

I applied for the advanced placement lvn to rn program. I am working on the answers to my written interview questions now. I must reply by the 29th. I believe the point system is different for the generic option

Congrats!!! Did they inform you of an in-person interview?

No. Said I would be getting a more detailed letter by mail. And pre-registration is May 10th. The lvn’s don’t have to do the in-person interview but the straight rn applicants do

After calling in to accept my invitation, I got the impression they were still in the process of selection. They only pick a handful of lvn to rn;so I’m guessing they are still sorting through/deciding generic applicants. Start practicing the newly required in person interview

Hi There. I was also offered and accepted a seat for the LVN-RN program. Glad to see another LVN. Did you get accepted for the Fall 2018 or January 2019 3rd semester start? I have a guaranteed spot for Winter but I am on the waiting list for Fall.

Same here. Yay! I wonder how many lvn’s they select? I’m so excited! I hear such great things about this program

My sister in-law completed the generic RN program here several years ago. Multiple RN's whom I've had the opportunity to work with have great things to say about the clinical experience. They confirm that the program is hard, harder than most (not sure how they can make that comparison if you only do nursing school once) but I am up for that challenge.

Not sure how many LVN's they selected, I guess we will have to see if more LVN's post on here or wait until the Pre-registraion in May. So do you start third semester in the fall or next January?

Hey there I had a friend apply for the bridge as well but she had 82 points but no email. Would you mind if I ask if you currently work at county?

Harder than most? Last time I checked, nursing school is tough in general. I wonder how someone is able to make this statement? ?

Did your sister in-law enjoy the classroom portion of the program? Any other insights? How many days a week classroom vs clinicals?
