Hi there,
Has anyone applied to LAC School of Nursing for Fall 2019? I thought I would get this post going so we can stay informed and help each other through this waiting process! What are your points that you calculated?

Hey there everyone!
I was also accepted to the LVN-RN bridge for this summer and waitlisted for the Fall 2019 semester. It wouldn’t be ideal to wait 6 months but I’m glad to hopefully connect with other LVNs before we start.
Is anyone here planning on getting any certifications before nursing school? I’m a phlebotomist, but was also thinking I’d certify for ecg/ekg or pharmacy tech to familiarize with other parts of the field that are relevant. Maybe an ACLS cert as well.
Does anyone know if nurses (bsn/msn) should know billing codes? I know nurses/drs can bill for diff things and before/after makes a diff depending on insurance plans.
I just want to be as well rounded as possible to hopefully score a student nursing gig. I’d like to specialize and earn an MSN as well. Maybe a dr in nursing to become a nurse anesthetist. I’m in my mid 30s so I suppose I don’t have much time to acrue and pay off debt so we’ll see.
This wait is killing me. I applied to several schools.

I want to get my Clinical Nurse Specialist certificate in Neonatalogy.
As far as billing goes, I think it would be smarter to do I know that if you go into auditing patient charts/files. You can telecommute & get paid alot. I know a nurse who gets paid $65/hr to do it & she can do it from home.
The state college route it will be cheaper if you want to be an anesthesiologist nurse. CSUF has a program. I am also 30 so I know how you feel about not accumulating a lot of debt. I also already have a BA in something entirely different & 3 kids ? so the least amount of debt, the better!
Hopefully we will at least get our interview dates soon!
@BTE3 thanks for the feedback! Yes the anesthetist program at Fullerton only accepts a few students, but I suppose they all do. There’s a doctorate is now required and only a handful of schools in the US offer it now; the most schools being located in CA of course.
Anyway that’s great you want to specialize in neonatology! Good luck with that!

Good question.
Did you do live scan and start the health clearance already?
