Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there,

Has anyone applied to LAC School of Nursing for Fall 2019? I thought I would get this post going so we can stay informed and help each other through this waiting process! What are your points that you calculated?

Hey guys has anyone been contacted by the school yet??

No not yet still patiently waiting ?

I had trouble uploading my verification of employment/experience. Anybody else have this issue?

Also what was everyone’s TEAS score and GPA? Mine was 78.8% and 3.6. I’m concerned I’m not competitive enough; for any program that is. I’m fearing West Coast.

@2bNurseKevorkian I called them to talk about some of the application requirements, and they said that the employment portion of the application was down, so I wouldn't worry about it. And when you refer to West Coast, are you talking about West Coast University?

Don't do West Coast! I was signed up to start West Coast on 4/1/19 and thank God I decided against it. My TEAS was only 74.6%, I did not study much and thought I could just wing it. Boy was I wrong. But hey, I got accepted to two schools so far. My GPA is 3.6ish too and my LVN GPA was nearly a 3.8ish. Do not give up. $4,800 per semester vs $11,600 at West Coast should be EASY to decide against it. You also have to consider the interest you will be paying while in school and after you graduate. It does not make sense. Even if you have submit another round of applications, just stick to it. Best of luck to you! ?

You were supposed to mail a letter from HR or manager stating that you worked there.

@BTE3 when I called them about it they said that part was down and not to worry about it. Nobody said anything about “mailing” in a letter. Where did you find that info? Concerned.

@2bNurseKevorkian when I went to the nurse info session they said that if you wanted the extra point to bring or mail a letter from your manager or HR.

@BTE3 did they say anything at the info session about the upload not working? The ladybover the phone said nothing about mailing in a letter. After I called I uploaded a “question” about it with my application but of course haven’t heard anything. Maybe I’ll call today about it. Thank you!

@2bNurseKevorkian yes they said that the link wasn’t working & if you wanted the extra point that a letter on letterhead has to be sent to the office by 2/15/2019. Good luck! Hopefully they let you send in a letter since it was really confusing.

@2bNurseKevorkian If you didn't go to the info session, it is also posted online here under "C. Bonus Points".

Oh actually, it doesn't say it had to be mailed. But yes, at the info session they mentioned it had to be mailed from the facility.

@etchensketch Thank you for the info. I guess I’m screwed out of that point. I probably wouldn’t have gotten in anyway. We’ll see. Thanks everyone.
