Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

When there is a new post from someone I get an email. Maybe if we leave post in spring 2014 or fall 2013 someone will get an email and come here to give us some tips or just tell something about the program!

Just to let you know guys. LAVC is calling people that got accepted...i got the call this morning...

I just called to County and told them that I want to go to their school. They told me to fill out the post card and send it as well.

LAVC, "+" for me:

1. Cheaper.

2. Very close to my apartment

Minus that I have never heard anything about their program. Nothing good and nothing bad.

LA County

1. Everyone says great things about program, its known for great clinical experience.

2. I love the fact I've got in because they looked at our grades and GPA is matter!

Minuses are: price and farther distance.

Any way, I am not even accepted into Valley yet. Sometimes I wish just to get rejection so I don't have to choose. Valley thread is dead! So I dont have anyone to discuss Valley...

Lavc thread is 2 pages, 11 posts. I never met any nursing student from Valley. I would like to hear some feedback about the program. Any way, I don't worry about it at all. I am so happy that County accepted me! I'm already used to this thoughts that I will attend their program!

I agree with comments above. Just wanted to add that we don't know exactly what situation you r in. No matter what you will decide its will be your decision. I'm sure that's many people who attend nursing school faces some financial difficulties. That's a huge step to quit jobs and focus only on school. But it will pay back eventually! You still have time to decide.

Do I remember correct that you had 78 points? Dont you afraid that next time cut off might be like 82 for example? If I would be u, I would use my chance to attend nursing school. But as I said, we don't know your situation!

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of, if I put it off, I might not get in right away and i'll have to wait. I am about 85% I will accept. I've already asked for the day of so I could attend the pre-registration orientation.
