This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!
My classmate who applied to County and LAVC just told me that she got her rejection letter a few hours ago. She said she had 77 pts, according to her calculations. Now she is waiting to hear from LAVC. I hope she gets in at LAVC so we can all pursue our dreams asap.
I'm just wondering why do they send rejection letters so soon. What if many students will reject their spots? Also 77 is so close to 78...
And can I ask u a favor? Can u let me know when your friend will hear anything from LAVC? I applied to LAVC as well.

Not everyone's application is the same, even if they have the same points. They look at every application individually, their essays, their science gpa etc. She got her points from volunteering and from completing a few GE classes, but her science gpa was not so good, so maybe that's what they look at. I wouldn't know though. I am just guessing :-).
Sure, I'll let you know when she tells me her status at LAVC. Hopefully you both get in, since I know that LAVC is your first choice, correct?

it does make sense)
WOW! So great! Congratulations! I am happy that you got in, you have been with us on this thread from the beginning when we were all whining and dreading the teas test :-).Good luck on your nursing journey.
Thanks guys. I hope I make it on the 20th. I'm currently working full time and I really didn't think I'd get accepted this semester. So, I have a big decision to make-give my two week notice and go to school or give up my seat this semester and apply next time. I just need sometime to get my finances in order. Either that or find a weekend job during school! Ugh, i don't know what I am going to do.

Thank you! Yes, it feels good to be accepted at County since their acceptance is based on merit. At least I know that my grades and all the hard work counted ;-)
