Hello future nurses!
I am starting this new thread for everybody that is planning to apply to LACC's nursing program for Fall 2014. How many of you are planning to apply for Fall 2014? I'll be finishing my last prerequisite (chemistry) this winter and hope to apply in February. Good luck to us all!
May is right around the corner. I will be checking this thread and my email every day ahhh! Anyways, I know LACC accepts 40 students and then every one else as alternates...does anyone know how many students are accepted at LA HC ?
Check your LAHC email! Acceptance letters just went out. I'm in!
Well the letters from LACC are out. i am hoping to get mine tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Congrats on getting accepted at LAHC. Which one will you choose if you get into LACC as well?
Yes, let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm still a bit undecided where to go (provided I get into LACC). Both LAHC and LACC seem to be great programs.
Thanks! Congratulations to you, too! If you choose Harbor, I'll see you at orientation. I'm so excited!
It's Harbor for me. I didn't have to make a decision at all, because I didn't get in at LACC. I received my letter this morning, and it says I'm an alternate (40ish range), which is pretty much a rejection. Congratulations to all of you that got in.

It's good if you are an alternate number 40ish something, because they accept 40 students, and from number 40 they start assigning alternate numbers. So if you are in the 40 range, it means only a few people have to give up their spot for you to get in. But since you got accepted into Harbor, i guess that's a safe bet, so why even bother with waiting for LACC. Still nothing in the mail for me, but I assume I am not in since they call all the accepted applicants, and I didn't get any calls. :-(

Thanks for your clarification. I thought the alternate list started at number 1. So yeah, I'd probably get in if I wait for people to give up their spot. But my mind is already made up. I'm going to Harbor.
I hope you get your letter high in the alternate list. Did you apply to and get in at other schools? Is LACC your top choice?

I vaguely remember them saying at an information session that harbor accepts about 40 students also. I don't know anything about the alternates. I wonder how many were invited to take or submit their teas scores? It's killing me to not know what our odds of getting accepted are. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that we will be one of the lucky ones chosen! The anticipation is brutal.
