Hello future nurses!
I am starting this new thread for everybody that is planning to apply to LACC's nursing program for Fall 2014. How many of you are planning to apply for Fall 2014? I'll be finishing my last prerequisite (chemistry) this winter and hope to apply in February. Good luck to us all!
Hi Enzyme - I'm not yet able to PM you but thank you for the link! And as for my first choice - it's between Glendale, LAVC and LACC. So far I have been accepted to LACC, Pierce (I declined) and waitlisted for PCC and still haven't heard from Glendale or LAVC. The hospitals for LACC are tempting, as well as the metro vs. car commute, but I currently work at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, which is one of the hospitals at which GCC does clinicals. LAVC is right next to my house. I know Glendale is a good school but have not heard much about the other two so I might start a new thread. :)

I love LACC, but it is my home college so I might be biased :-). I know several people who are attending their RN program at LACC now, and they say it is a good and organized program. Plus they have the collaborative BSN program agreement with CSULA, which is one of the great perks of their program. GCC and PCC also have that option. But, I know that LAVC doesn't have that.
I guess you won't be hearing anything soon from LAVC as they say that they notify their applicants sometime in July, which is soooo far away :-).
Any alternates hear if they moved up or anything?
I presume it might be too early to know anything about alternates as the deadline to accept/decline the spots in the program was only yesterday. Hopefully, you will hear something soon. I know three people who told me they were going to decline LACC and margaret from this forum also said she would decline LACC. I believe staceycsu will also be accepting other college's offer. So that's already 5 people that I know about :-).
Hello everyone! Congrats to everyone who got accepted to any nursing program! I got accepted to LACC for fall 2014. Been trying to get into any program for over 2 years now so I want people who didn't get in this time around to stay positive! It will happen! While ecstatic that I finally I got in, I'm scared as heck cuz I don't know what to expect!
Enzyme: thanks for starting post! when u get a chance, please email me link to class info at [email protected]
i appreciate it!
Hi. Everyone. I also got on to LACC for fall 2014. I am so excited. I am still waiting to hear back for LAVC as it is very close to my house but they will send notification by mid June.
Congrats to all of you and it will be great to get to know you before the program begin so we will not be as nervous ....
Annabellesasu, if you go to the webpage of lavc RN program, go to prepare for the first semester, there you find info on what we can expect in the medical clearance package. Of course, it may not be identical to lacc's med. clearance requirements, but it will give you an idea what to expect. I tried my best to get some info on this from lacc but for some reason they won't say a word. we get the package in June and we will most probably need to turn it in within a month. If you get accepted at lavc and choose to go there instead, you will only need to complete those tests, bls course, background test, etc by September only. Hopefully we get this package soon.

Lavc does not post the RN info on their website. They are using google site. However; it is the same for every school with minor changes.
I am also waiting for LAVC notification letter. But if I will not go there, I will have to choose between COC and LAVC

On the health science department web page ( LAVC), under the RN program link, there is a place where you find: Getting ready for the first semester. That's where i found lavc's medical clearance requirements just to get an idea what to expect.

Also just wanted to see how many people declined their spot or know of anyone that has declined.
