2015 Lonestar spring hopefuls.

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Good score! Shouldn't have a problem getting in.

What score did you have last year?

I had a 10 something last year. I just moved back from west Texas and had no idea Lonestar looks at Comp 1 and PSYC grades !! In Midland Tx they go by A&P 1 and 2 + Micro grades. Had to retake and make an A in PSYC and Comp 1. Got my A's so just now reapplied.

Oh wow. Well I hope everyone applying to Kingwood gets in because I need some nursing buddies! :nurse:

Do they accept two hesi scores for example you take the test and you get a 74 on the math section and pass every the everything else, so you take the test again and pass the math but have a low score on grammar or another section , will they allow you to do that or not? And also how do I send in my hesi scores because I didnt take the test at the school

lilly2014,

They only accept the most recent test scores. So whatever you made on the most recent test you took will be accepted. I'm not sure how you send them if you didn't take them at the school. I'd call the place you took it at and ask them to transfer them to the school you want to apply to. I took mine at a Lone Star campus and the scores automatically popped up into the application.

Ok thank you im going to call them and ask .hopefully I make it because I have everything else done

Only the newest score counts and you have to make at least a 75% on every section or they wont count it, my first time i took it i got great scores but got a 74 in grammar so i had to retake it 60days later which is the rule, luckily i got a 92% so i was fine having to retake it, but the answer is no on combining scores

Ok thanks .maybe fall 2015 I will try again tired of this nursing school dance I might try radiology

yeah i almost gave up right after my first hesi score where i got that 74 in one section because i was just tired of the stress of working my butt off and still not getting anywhere and couldn't believe they wouldn't let me apply because of one point!, but in the end i decided i really wanted to do this so i just retook it,

Did you atleast get a 75% on everything your second go around? You shouldn't give up, just retake in 60 days, my plan B was if i didnt get a good score the 2nd time around and couldnt apply in the summer i was just gonna take my core classes in the fall for my bachelors, so as soon i am done with associates i could get right into a bachelors program, so don't give up just use the extra time you have to get a better score on the hesi and work closer to your goal

HEY EVERYBODY! I know I haven't been on here since starting Nursing School. Let me re-introduce myself; My name is Stacey. I am a level 4 Student Nurse (beginning August 2014, YAY!) I go to Lonestar College (Kingwood Campus). I see some of y'all are worried about your scores and if you will be accepted into the program. I applied to Kingwood with a score of 11.52 or 11.54 I believe. Nursing school is ALOT OF WORK! You must be willing to put in hard work to succeed!!!! My most difficult semesters were my 1st and 3rd semesters. I say first semester because it was all new for me plus extremely overwhelming! All the work we do makes your time in school go by super fast and now I see the light, lol! I graduate (Nursing pinning) in December 2014 and I CANNOT WAIT!!!! I'm not saying all this to scare anyone; Nursing School does have its good times and you will meet plenty of new friends! It is all worth it in the end. Any questions, feel free to ask : )

So happy for you ikegrad! I know you must be so glad to be so close to graduation. I'm super worried about my score of 11.1932!! I'm just praying that I can get in with that. I have all of my prerequisites for my BSN already so that will help if I need to apply to another school.

any idea what was the lowest score entered was by your classmates?
