U.S.A. Texas

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

@ddreese, I don't think we will have problems finding a job at all!!! TOO MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR NURSES!!! While Nursing School is preparing me for NCLEX, I am doing the Kaplan review right after I graduate ; )

@jamesoakes, First semester clinicals are once a week, 10 hours a day. Clinicals for me aren't stressful at all. It's actually my favorite part since I get to use my skills I learn in lab on real patients! I studied almost everyday (unless it was spring break or holidays, lol) You will find yourself with a group, who you will call your friends, who will be your study group. DON'T WORRY!

@CHRISTIAN O, We learned basic things in first semester like bed baths, taking vitals, making patient beds with them in and out, foundations of nursing.

What did yall do for that minimester before you start the actual program? i think its nrsg 1105

@christian o, i almost forgot about the minimester lol....it was so short....I think we did the basics too, but in first semester just a little bit more. When do they start sending out acceptance letters to yall or when does the next program start? Is it Jan 2015?

Hi guys .. I'm back... omg I been like crazy with A&P2 this summer, but I finally took my final today and all points that I will have my A!! which i believe will make my score a 11.38... I have to wait till next week to submit my app to make sure that my A is there... I will only be applying to cyfair so hopefully I can get in! if anyone needs to take or retake A&P I highly recommend Professor Das out of University Park, you won't regret it! Also I believe someone asked about the CPR stuff, I think a BLS is better for a hospital health care setting, but the program accepts either one. I got mine from the red cross auth people out on southwest, but expires this Dec so I will have to retake it. @ikegard, congrats! you are almost there girl!! and yes this app period is to start on jan 15, and are you going to be applying to any university for a BSN right after you finish? or you are going to get some well deserve time off from school?

Letters go out end of September-Early October and Yes Program starts in January

Hello I am new to this site, and was just reading over some of the comments. Congrats to everyone that has come this far! I ended up with a 10.2 because I transferred with my pre-reqs and they were all Bs so I thought I would be fine. Then I only got a 82% on my HESI which only gave me 3 points as well. I am so frustrated! I have ALL my classes plus some for my BSN. I dread re-taking my HESI! However, I don't know what else to do to bring my scores up.. WITHOUT going crazy in the process

@Christian O, OH OK....Good luck with everything!

@Gabicita, thanks! Yes I will be doing an online BSN program once I am done in December.I will be taking classes while working as a RN. No time off for me, only to study for my NCLEX......and about the CPR, I did apply with it but eventually you will have to get your BLS. That's what me and all the other student nurses have : )

@shayboggie, That Hesi entrance exam worried me too, but don't give up! If you have to try it again, do it! What areas did you do the worst on? Most people don't do good on the A&P section. Go to a library and checkout out anything you see on Anatomy and Physiology. Focus on the basic stuff because when I took it, it really didn't go into too much detail on things, just basic things about the human body, cells, etc. Take your time when studying for it and don't just read, but read to retain AND understand. I studied everyday until I took it. You can do it. GOOD LUCK!

that's great that you will be going for your BSN right away!.. I will be def following your footsteps!:yes: .. and i'm just going to renew my BLS to be ready. Also can you tell me a bit of how is your class and clinical schedule? or do you know how is the schedule over at cy-fair?
