2015 Lonestar spring hopefuls.

U.S.A. Texas

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Yea, thanks Christian. I understood that part as I have completed all of the non-nursing courses in the degree plan so if I am accepted, I would only have the nursing classes left to take. I was trying to figure out what my degree plan would like look without the non-nursing courses.

@derma2016, you have to follow whatever school you are going to plan. You can't pick and choose what classes you want to take once you are accepted (if that's what you mean). Each semester has it's own courses you must take. There is an order of nursing courses you must follow. You can't take more or less of any class once in the nursing program. Whatever schedule they give you, that's what you are suck with. It can't change. The only thing they MIGHT let you change is a clinical day, only if they can find someone to switch with you, but most times this doesn't even happen. Hopefully I answered what you were asking me, lol : )

All schools are different so I can't say what your nursing courses will be. Your first semester might not just be "Nursing skills" because that would only be considered your lab class. Usually you have a lab, lecture and clinical. Hopefully I answered some or all of what you were asking me, lol : )

Thanks Christian! and if cy-fair is not far for you and you don't mind the drive I say go for it!! the more the better.. ohh and yes hopefully everyone on the board makes it in either to Cy-fair or Kingwood ... @ikegrad2002..wow if you were already accepted once, you surely will be accepted again..don't worry you got this in a bag!.. @derma2016.. I asked the same thing to an advisor today, because I was worry that I was not going to be considered a full time student.. she told me that in the event that I only get a few classes assigned from the RN program I will still be considered full time, but it depends on the program coordinators which are the classes we will get assigned.

Thanks ikegrad2002; your response was exactly what I was looking for. Ugh, I just hate to be held back because I have literally taken ALL of the non-nursing classes.

derma2016,

Most people that apply to the program already have all of the non-nursing classes completed. There was a girl in my Microbiology class who hadn't taken it and she was in the program already, but she seemed stressed out all the time and ended up dropping. So it's good that we got those classes out the way!

It's been a month since I applied to the program and I hate waiting! I'm not a very patient person (catch the pun?) :roflmao:

Another month and a half... Sigh

Thank you @ikegrad2002

Yeah I hear ya about patience, took my final for A&P2 today and I gotta wait till grades post next week before I can submit my application, I just want to get my application in already so all I have left to do is wait

@jamesoakes.. hahahaha... ur in the right track! most people that works in the health care field are the worst patients.. asides of always trying to autodiagnose everything! :specs: .. which school did u apply? and wht was ur score? hey when u dropped off ur package did they emailed u a receipt? I still haven't received anything!! I'm already freaking out I can just imagine how I will be in another month!!:nailbiting:

@Christian.. how did ur test go? hopefully is wht u were expecting... ohh yes.. the long wait is about to start for u too..:nailbiting:

Gabicita,

i applied to Kingwood as my first option since it's only 5 minutes away, and Cyfair as a backup. Hopefully I get into Kingwood though! My score was an 11.6. I didn't get a receipt or anything, the lady just told me they would send out letters to our myLonestar emails towards the end of Sept.
