lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

I emailed V. At Kingwood and she said the BON will mail you. And I'm sure when you got your fingerprinting done they asked you if your current address was the same as your drivers license. And if it were wrong they should have entered the correct info in their system so you can get your results. Yeah the person that did mine had no clue either.

I am still having trouble with my background check....Remember I did my DO back in Feb. of this year and received a letter from the BON in May....I emailed a copy of the BON letter to Valerie a week ago and still have not heard back from her...I never received a blue card just a letter from the BON...I am starting to worry

does anyone else starting to think that this whole process is a little confusing and frustrating......

Yes the lady told me to call back to the people that make the appointments L-1 and ask them cause she said that it didn't ask for a mailing address when she was doing my information on the computer. And yes jennjenn this whole process is getting confusing!!!

Does anyone know if Kingwood specified what color our watch has to be?

I think the process is designed around those that will just breeze through. I think that even those people have some frustrating moments though. If it's any consolation Jenn, the director at the woodlands said she needed the blue card or the copy of the letter from them saying you were cleared. I emailed Valerie twice about some other stuff and haven't heard back either so I was thinking she was maybe on vacation.

CyFair doesn't have a "watch-dress-code" however, analog with second hand is the recommended timepiece. Nothing oversized or flashy; in other words, something you don't mind getting soap, water, blood, urine, stool, and other fluids on.

The process itself is not complex, but more time consuming than anything. Try not to stress badly over the deadlines, they are actually only guidelines and not do-or-die drop dead dates. The blue card, once submitted for it, takes its sweet ol' time to arrive. Mine did not arrive until after the semester began if memory serves correctly.

I've had my blue card for a while. I was just offering some guidance to those who didn't. I was under the impression it was do or die deadlines. Both directors, Kingwood and the Woodlands, have said if they do not have the blue card by the deadline they will drop you. I just wouldn't feel right if I passed along false hope and someone stopped pushing to get it and was then dropped.

What brand of shoe have you purchased that has met the "white" requirement?
