Hi, I have been watching this blog for updates and finally joined too. I am an alternate also for Kingwood and Cyfair. Kingwood first choice, Cyfair second. Congratulations to those that got in. I have a question: doing the SS background check has anyone received any final ok from them? If so how long did it take?

I did mine almost two weeks ago and it still says in progress. I'm not sure what all it entails but I was born here and aside from hanging my name when I got married nothing has ever been different. Funny how it could take so long.

What was your score? I did mine about 2 weeks ago and I am also still waiting for a reply. It still says "pending" for me as well.

I called and was finally told that it was because of the government shutdown. We should start getting updates next week.

How do u check updates for the background check??

I don't think there is a way to check the background check. You just have to wait for the BON to mail you your blip use card or mail you a letter asking for more info. But to check your SS check you go through certifiedbackground.

Oh ok I was confused. So they r supposed to mail it to your mailing address because I asked the girl where I went and she didn't know how they did it because I have a different mailing address than what's on my drivers license.
