lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

Okay nevermind, the open at 8am

Jenn yes those are the books.

I totally forgot about pharmacology...dang it that messes things up for me....can I get those 2 books used or rent...or do I have to purchase them new for pharmacology

Jenn you should be able to get them in any way. But if you can I would get them new because they come with cd's that help you study and learn content.

Echo, by any chance do you know if these access codes are essential?

Thanks lkm84 for the good info. I have several pairs of black scrub bottoms so I was just inquiring to see if I could pair them with a plain solid purple or green top, that way I can get more out of what I already have. I appreciate the heads up on the classes as well! What semester are you approaching now or have you completed the program?

You're very welcome. I will be starting my second semester this Spring. Like I said before, I am not 100% sure if things are the same as they were last semester, dress code wise, but if they are, then you should be fine to wear that.

Jenn can you please message me that copy if required tools and uniform list.

Dreksterr-- That's correct, you will need black scrubs when you start your second semester. Those will be the scrubs you wear to your clinical site. You can wear any color for the first semester.

Ok now I'm a little worried. I received an email stating my appeal was approved. Saturday I received an email stating that I need to submit advisors report. Sunday I wake up to an email stating they dropped all classes because I had not paid. Argh.........stressing. Headed up there in the morning and praying.

Hi my pharmacolgy professor changed, did anyone elses did as well?. I had professor K, but now i have Professor L.

Professor L is great. Had her online . Got an A last semester. Lots of work but it's not hard work. She is very organized.

Echo by any chance do you know if these access codes are essential?[/quote']

More than likely yes; often professors will use the access portal provided by certain publishers to supplement homework with an online quiz. If you buy the book elsewhere without the access codes, you can still purchase the standalone access code from the CyFair bookstore, and sometimes via the Textbook Publishers website (Sometimes cheaper than the school bookstore sells it for)

Can one of you please send me the email address of that lady who spoke to us at orientation from the book publishing company?!? Since I never received a response I'm fearing that I sent it to the wrong address.
