Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

I applied at Cy fair for the VN and for the RN I applied to Tomball as my first choice then Cy fair then north Harris

I would rather go to kingwood since I love out here, but nh isn't too far, cyfair is about an hour drive from me. Good luck!

North Harris is probably the farthest I would drive king wood is about an hour away for me

Don't know why you didn't get your email. Nursing school will be challenging. If you have a great support system, you can do a lot of things. However, be careful not to overschedule yourself. The school does not advise working full-time while in the Basic ADN program. The school itself is a full-time job. Best of Luck!

Anyone know what the cutoff score was for north Harris and tomball for the last application period?

I'm not sure but I've hears that north Harris is lower just because they have so many more applicants

N.H. does tend to be lower because the number of students enrolled is larger. I know of someone last period who was accepted with 10.8 and an alternate who was called in at 10.6. Mind you every period is different, and I don't know the exact cut off score. I don't remember Tomball's cutoff for last period. If anyone decides to call and find out please post it here!
