Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

I applied to North Harris's ADN program 2014 with an 11.46 and I hope it's good enough! In 2012 I got accepted as an alternate at Kingwood with an 11.42 but I let my spot go when I found out I was pregnant with my now almost 1 year old daughter. I know it will be tough but I'm excited to see what life brings an I can't wait for the short couple of week left to find out if I got accepted to NH or not! Good luck to all of us!! :)

I applied for the ADN program for fall of 2014 at Cyfair with a 10.74. I was told I would find out in March if I made the program or not. So heres to hoping I get in!!! Also I will be needing to work while I go to school, what will you guys do for work while attending school? I have a 7 month old so my daycare costs are more since its infant pricing so I have to worry about this cost. I'm just stressing about whether or not I can afford to quit my full time job and pay for things.

Did you receive a confirmation email for the ADN program I still haven't I'm getting nervous , and personally I most likely will quit my job I still live my family so I'm lucky they can help out.

No I haven't received an email yet but everywhere I've read says April. Fingers crossed we find out soon

Hi everyone! The wait is driving me crazy! Please add me to the list. LVN 6.325 and RN 10.96. Kind of low but it's worth a try since it's my first time applying. Good luck to everyone!!!

Oh! I didn't receive a conformation letter for neither lvn or RN when I turned in my App. Should I be expecting one???

Hi Lucaya,

You should only be getting a confirmation that you submitted your application. Check the email you put on your application. Acceptance letters for Basic RN are not out yet. Most of us will hear something in April.

I did not receive a confirmation email....for either time I have applied. I will also have to work during the program, I have an 11 month old, who luckily has very awesome grandmas who watch her for me!, but the other bills don't pay themselves! It is not impossible to work during the program it just more challenging for those who do.
