Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Published

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

I highly doubt I will get in being that my score is only 10.06 but I am hoping to earn a spot in the VN program at least

The year before, I heard an alternate was called in at 8.4 for ADN. Don't give up hope!

I just hope that we get notifications soon. On the deadlines it says March and April for certain locations.

When I dropped off my application I was told that since the application deadline had been moved for all locations, if I didn't hear something by mid April to call. So I'm not going to worry until April 15th, then my butt will be on the phone if I haven't heard anything, lol! Websites aren't always completely updated for minor adjustments such as one time deadlines, so I would definitely give them a little extra time to get through reviewing apps since they extended the deadline. A month to get through all those applications isn't actually a lot of time if you think about it! Try not to worry so much until then. Easier said than done I know!

I was pretty much thinking the same and making a call around mid April. The wait is getting to me. Haha

Current first semester student at kingwood. Wanted to hear from any higher level students. Was told tonight by a old friend who graduated from north Harris that half the class made it to graduation. Just wanted to know if that was the norm

Do you know what school that was for .?

North Harris adn

I just hope to get in somewhere

The program is tough I am not going to lie. I have shed a few tears already but have managed to get thru to see my 10th week! Be prepared for 40+ page chapters. I am averaging 100 pages per week. That's just for one class, don't forget about lab and pharm. if u have taken pharm than u have an advantage over those who haven't. Don't get me wrong however taking pharm while in the program is very possible. Don't give up whatever you do. What don't kill ya mAkes u stronger.

What is your score?

Well don't be discouraged. Last thread I was a part of most alternates were accepted and were accepted days before semester began
