Lonestar Fall 2013 hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone!

I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.

I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?

Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

Thank you. do we have to get the textbook for it?

I was never told anything about a textbook.

AND HAVE A DRINK!!!

Yes a big one!

I called Montgomery and they told me i am #16 on the alternate list. I applied with an 11.2 if that gives you an idea of where you stand!

Has anyone who was accepted to Cyfair done their Social Security Verification yet? I know we are still waiting for the code we need to do the fingerprinting and background checks, but I thought maybe I could go ahead and do the SS verification now while we wait for that. Anyway, I went to the certifiedbackground. com website and set up a profile and paid $5 for I think is the SS verification. Then it said that I needed to fill out a releases form and email it back to them. Does this sound correct? Was it really only $5, and did any of you fill out and send back a release form? I tried calling the nursing department at Cyfair, but I can't get a hold of anyone there. It says I only have 3 days to respond with my release form or my order will be cancelled.

I didn't have to do any of that. I didn't have to register on a website. When I did my SS verification and background check I just paid (it was 40ish but in not positive) and filled out a form online and it sent it electronically and 3 days later I got an email with my background check results and my social security verification saying complete. I have no clue if I did it right though

I am #4alternate at Montgomery!!! Lets hope they need 4 of us

You did not have to go to certifiedbackround.com and register? I wonder if this is only for Cyfair. I wish someone would answer the phone over there, so I can ask some questions. I'm so confused. lol When you did your background check did it state that you were also verifying your social security at the same time? We haven't received our code yet for the background checks, so maybe I just jumped the gun too soon and I'm doing it wrong because we need to wait for that.

I don't think so...I know, it's all so confusing and I want to make sure I do it all right. I called Montgomery this morning and she said I do not need to get re finger printed and to wait for my blue card in the mail: fingers crossed...

Specializes in PICU.

I didn't have to do all that either. There is a link for the social security verification in the nursing section of lonestar. Mine was about $10 and went through PayPal. I got it a few days later in the mail.

I didn't go to that website either. It was around $10 for ss verification and I already have it back from them. I am #7 for Montgomery.

I dont think i got it in the mail...hmmm...

We do have to register Certifiedbackground.com otherwise we cant get any document that we need. Also, we have to upload vaccine info, etc. there. I did it yesterday, and it charged $16.50.
