Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Congrats to all the KW applicants!!! I got home today and I did not leave a letter from Kingwood so I am just an alternate with Cypress and I am ok with that. I filled out all the forms on the nursing form link and I am getting my physical on Tuesday and Wednesday I am driving to Houston to turn all my papers in!! I have a good feeling that all the alternates are going to get into the nursing program. There are a lot of applicants who applied to many different schools and some of them are bound to decline. I know we may be a little bummed but there are a lot of applicants who wish they received a alternate letter, at least we are not completely denied. Keep praying and we will all get in!!!!

Hahahaha Im so tired from my mini vacation that I did not realize I said "I did not leave a letter from KW." I meant to say I did not receive a letter from KW.

So my husband got his letter Wednesday and I STILL don't have a letter!! I called the nursing department Friday and the lady seemed confused because she said they sent our letters out the same day, so apparently the post office lost mine... They told me to call back Monday if I didn't get it over the weekend...

I wonder what they're going to have me do because there's not time for them to mail me a new letter and me to mail it back seeing how they're due on the 8th! Grr!!

And to add to my aggravations my Bears not only lost, but played terribly! (not a good weekend!).

I called CyFair and they let me scan and email it. They also said that I could fax it. Just call them and ask them if it's alright and I'm sure it will be fine. :)

hey y'all my husband is going to be applying for the fall, and needs to retake the hesi. i remember seeing a post about some good study materials, but i couldn't find it among the million pages of this thread lol. does anyone have any good secrets? i (he) would really appreciate it. mostly for the reading part.

I recommend the study guide from the people that created the HESI exam. It is called Evolve Reach Assessment Exam Review. It does have some errors in the answers of it math but it is still well worth the investment.

thanks! we actually already have that book, and while it is good..it only seems to have one story to go through for the reading part. it would be helpful to have more..but i do appreciate the help!!

yes it has but one story, but they go into detail of what kind of questions they ask and how they will ask them. That is the most important detail. Just my 2 cents and I did pretty good on the reading.
