Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

I got accepted as an alternate. 11.57. I'm bummed out. I sure hope I will get accepted for the spring! :crying2:

tammyw31, just get ready. As I said in a earlier, some people will give up their spot. It happens every application period. At my age I need to do the RN program. I am not so sure after doing the lvn program that I would have gone back to school. Make sure you have all your paperwork, immunizations, and cpr complete because I feel confident you will be accepted. Keep your head up!

So am I the only person that mailed my letter back this evening? :lol2: The letter was dated September 23rd so I did not want to take a chance by mailing it next week. I know I am 'over the moon' :yeah:

I hand delivered mine to the office the next morning after I got it. I don't trust the postal service :lol2:

Well I trust the mail and it was too late to drive it over to Kingwood this evening. I will call next week to make sure they received it. (I made copies just in case) hee hee

BTW, Make copies of everything you send or hand deliver to the nursing department.

Hi all!

This is Karen - Just want to introduce myself to all the KW nursing students starting Jan 2011. I received my acceptance letter for Kingwood. Yah!

My score was 11.652 and my HESI math was an 86, for those of you still waiting to receive your letter.

I look forward to meeting everyone and can't wait to begin this new, exciting chapter together! :yeah:

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! The support we'll be able to give each other being part of this group, both before Jan and throughout the whole program, will practically guarantee our success. It took hard work for all of us to get to this point and the next 4 semesters will be challenging, but we're all one step closer to realizing our dream of becoming a nurse. I am sitting in Santa Fe NM and I am freaking out that they sent out the kw letters. I know this is a long shot but I hope there was space for me in my second choice. I'm not looking for anything but just the possibility is driving me crazy. There could possibly be a letter in my mailbox and there could not be a letter. I live in an apt so I can't have someone go check my mail ahhhhhhhh. Well I will be home Sunday to check the mail. Congrats to all kw nurses and to those who are an alternate I know how you feel. Just remember there is always a chance we can get in!!!!
