Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Ok thanks so much for the info! Our kingwood letters say the background check is due but dosen't give us a date so I didn't know for sure :)

No problem. I am getting dressed so I can mail my letter back today. I was so nervous and excited that I could not eat. Now I am starving! Congratulations everyone. I could not find the FB page. Help!

Where are the locations for a background check? I just googled "background check houston" and didn't see anything?? Is it a special place or something? I would like to get mine done asap as well.

needlenazi, you have to wait on the email from the college. There will be a number that must be given to the office doing the background check. The college will stress to you when you get the email, call and make the appointment a.s.a.p. I am not sure you can do it before orientation because the email has all the instructions included. Hope this helps.

hey everyone! ok, those who have been accepted to kingwood and want to join the facebook group...

do a search like you would for a person but enter this:

and make sure if several results come up you select "groups"

I got accepted as an alternate. 11.57. I'm bummed out. I sure hope I will get accepted for the spring!

It's highly possible. People apply all over, many for BSN programs and use Lone Star as a backup. Plus there are people who don't pass background checks, or who cannot get funds together for school. Don't give up!

I agree, I know several really young (under 21) ladies who applied to Lonestar as a backup. I bet you'll still make it.

Hi all!

This is Karen - Just want to introduce myself to all the KW nursing students starting Jan 2011. I received my acceptance letter for Kingwood. Yah!

My score was 11.652 and my HESI math was an 86, for those of you still waiting to receive your letter.

I look forward to meeting everyone and can't wait to begin this new, exciting chapter together!
