Lone Star Spring 2011

Published

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Hey everyone! Last application period four campuses were accepting applications and the total was 800 per the rep in CyFair's office. That was about 200 per campus. She did share with me that the Spring start nursing program yields a better chance because the applicant pool is lower than the Fall. I say all that to say..300 applicants between two campuses makes me want to scream! I refuse to crumble. I will keep the faith. I am sure we will all get into the programs of our choice. I am still checking Kingwood's website for acceptance/denial letter mail dates...nothing yet! Ugh.

Hahaha OMG I should not have asked how many people usually applied. I think I made everyone more nervous, including myself!!! Destinedtobea you made me feel a lot better though. I refuse to crumble as well (If I dont get in I will crumble on the floor and just fall apart, but Im not going there yet.) I really hope we all get in because it will be so fun meeting everyone and putting faces to names. Lets hope that the letters start pouring in this week!! I am calling at 8am and asking if they sent the letters out Friday, I will post as soon as I know.

I was told by the Nursing Office at Kingwood about 5 days before the deadline when I dropped off my app that about 100 people had applied. I doubt the number is as high as some of you are thinking.

lol @ franksl482, I will be crumpled on the floor like 'carpet fur' if I do not get a letter. You know what I gave up! We will meet one another soon, so let's just think positive and hope for the best.

I sure hope that number is closer to the actual number of applicants. Kingwood is a very far drive for me, but I am willing to make that sacrafice.

This is the most nervous i have been in a long time! franksl482, did you call yet? i'm so curious to know if they even sent them...i'm guessing they did not. AHH! so many uncertainties!

I just called the Cy Fair nursing department and they said that they did get SOME out on Friday, but more are to come... I hoping mine is in the mail today!!!!! The lady I spoke with said we should most likely have our letters by the end of the week! Good luck to everyone!

Oh and I must say that I thought there were 600 applicants at Cy Fair alone... it makes me feel a little better that number is a combination of both schools, but still a high number!

Maybe they did send the denial letters first- and since NONE of us got ours yet....

Good luck everyone!!!

 I have decided the nursing departments are messing with us. They are testing our patience with all of this horrible waiting...waiting...waiting...It is awful, I have never been so anxious about getting something in the mail.

 I can't stand this suspense.

Sorry I didn't get to post this morning, my computer and I are not getting along today. I called up at CyFair and got about the same information. I will post our dialogue we had bellow lol....

Lindsey(franksl482) - Hi, did yall send out the nursing letters on Friday

Cyfair- Yes we did

Lindsey- Oh great!!! Now do they all get sent out together...or...do the denied get sent out first, and then the accepted letters get sent out later.

Cyfair- Yes we do send them out in two batches. Batch one has gone out on Friday.

Lindsey- Soooooo did batch one contain denial letters??????

Cyfair- Im not real sure

Lindsey- Ok thanks - Hang up the phone and was like ...not real sure are you freaking kidding me??? So I have decided that I am going to make my boyfriend call back up to Cyfair when he gets home from school to pry some information out of them because I become so freaking nervous when Im on the phone with them lol.
