Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

So I was preparing for bed. Kids are tucked in. All of my pharmacology work is complete. I thought I would log on to this site to see what the 'happenings' are and low and behold...My heart is beating so fast. CyFair was my first choice initially but then I changed to Kingwood. I am so excited and I wish everyone the best possible outcome with regards to letters of Acceptance! Kingwood is a much farther drive for me but I have heard positive things about their staff and program. Now I have to wait longer to find out if I got in or not. CyFair is definitely highly respected so I feel like we cannot go wrong either way. I am so nervous and excited about receiving some news soon. I gave up my spot in the lvn program so I pray it was not in vain. God bless you all. Oh yeah, please post the moment you calm down after opening your Acceptance Letters! :redpinkhe I will not be able to sleep for the next few days. My poor postman is going to know my name!!!:idea:

I sure wish the KW website would have some news like that! I wonder if KW will be starting tomorrow as well?? Anyone want to volunteer to call/email up there and ask??! :lol2:

Anyone who gets a letter, maybe write your score and when you got your letter??

I got your message, just not sure how to respond. Do I need to upgrade my membership in order to respond to private messages? Anyway, same instructor and same college. The class I am taking is a hybrid class and we meet on Wednesday's just once a month.

Anyone have any idea what the schedule looks like for CyFair the 2nd semester? Is it similar to the first?

It won't be the same as first semester because we will be starting our clinicals then. From what I gather, we will be writing LOTS and LOTS of papers and nursing plans.

Does anyone have a clue as to what the cut off is for Kingwood College for the RN program starting in the spring? I heard last year the cut off was 11.4 and up. I pray to God it is that or 11.5 and up. I made a 11.57 and I hope that is good enough to get accepted into the program! Say a prayer for me please, I am praying for you all too.

Good luck to CyFair Applicants! Let us know when you get your letters, I applied only to Kingwood (CyFair just too far to drive for me) so hopefully Kingwood applicants will know by the 2nd week in October. I really cant wait to have that letter in my hand. I think I might frame it and put it on my wall! My friends and family are SICK of me, but they do NOT understand what we go thru to get into this program and how competitive it is. All of you on this site understand! GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE!

Waiting...waiting...waiting...waiting....

MAYBE tomorrow....but probably Monday or Tuesday....I hate this anticipation...I need to know so I can plan the next 2 years of my life....Good luck folks, we'll find out soon until then...Microbiology can pass the time.

tammyw31, you have a good score. I pray the cut off is 11.4 and up again this application period. I have a nursing graduate friend that is totally sure our scores are high enough to get in. If I had a 12 I would be so confident, but I have a 11.652 and that happens to be a popular score. I am praying for the group of us. We all want it so bad. Keep your head up and be sure to post when you get your letter. :lol2:

Omg the nerves and anticipation is really starting to get to me today!!! Im so nervous that an 11.612 will not be high enough this semester. I know how you feel destinedtobea, I feel the exact same way. If I had a higher score I would feel more confident, but I feel like I might be the cut off or below the cut off. If I dont get in I will just re take English 1 because I got a B in the class. I made a 98% on the Hessi Test. If I would of had an A in Eng my score would have been an 11.912. Oh well I cant stress out to much!!!
